Eleanor and Nathan’s ‘Rustic Boho’ South Devon Farm Wedding by Samuel Box Photography

Happy Monday everyone and welcome to another busy fun filled week on the blog! I hope you all had a good weekend? Mine was chilled and relaxed, just what I needed as the next few weekends I’m away or out, so lots planned in the diary! I am starting the week with this rustic dream of a wedding. Eleanor and Nathan fell in love with East Soar Farm as soon as they visited it, it gave them everything they wanted to host their South Devon Farm Wedding. They wanted a vegan menu, lots of space for DIY projects, and filled the barn with recycled decoration, along with autumnal themed flowers and lots of personal touches. Friends and family all chipped in and helped them bring their vision to light, making the day super personal and full of love. Eleanor and Nathan are so obviously besotted with each other and these photos by Samuel Box Photography really bring out the love and fun between this gorgeous couple.

A rustic, boho dream. A day filled with unconditional endless love.

Eleanor and Nathan were married on 17th September 2022 at St. Mary’s Church in Totnes with the reception at East Soar Farm, Kingsbridge in South Devon. ‘My grandad was the Vicar of St. Mary’s and all my family get married there. We visited East Soar farm as our first venue, and fell in love and decided immediately we wanted to get married there. We didn’t even look at any other venues. We love the owners and their values. The venue is also used for young people with additional needs, which we loved. There are also many animals (sheep, donkeys, horses) which adds to the experience. Our guests were able to spend the night before at the venue in tipi tents, and the owners cooked us a Potjie (South African stew). They also stayed on the wedding night too – it was so intimate, cosy and special. It also has multiple different parts of the venue to use, and put your own stamp on, including a hayloft, a big open faced barn and a main barn. Many people get married in the field which overlooks the sea – but we decided to have our welcome drinks there instead, as getting married in the church was important to us as Christians. We had 100 people for the day, and an additional 20 people for the evening. It took us one year to plan for our wedding.’

1. Dare To Be Different

Choose an unconventional venue to host the wedding. Weddings are typically held in city halls, churches or event spaces, which can be pricey and are often overrated. Why not hold the wedding somewhere special to the betrothed, like a local park? Breweries, libraries, train stations or aquariums are other unique spots to host a wedding. Outdoor spaces provide gorgeous natural scenery that can minimize needed décor and make the event stand out.

It’s relatively cheap to rent an outdoor space like a park for a few hours for an event, so it will likely maximize the wedding budget, killing two birds with one stone. Adventurous couples can have their event on top of a mountain, on their favourite hiking trail or underneath a waterfall for some extra adventure. Ensure to provide blankets or other items for guests to protect themselves from the elements depending on the weather.

6 Reasons Why you Should Buy Lab-Grown Gemstones For Your Wedding

If you have been to a jewellery store in recent times, chances are that the attendant presented you with lab-grown options of gemstones as well as natural stone options. Chances are also that you have seen a lot on the internet – celebrities flaunting jewellery made from lab-grown gems and blog posts that outline them as the next big thing.

Here are six legit reasons why you should consider buying a lab-grown gemstone for your wedding

6 Reasons Why you Should Buy Lab-Grown Gemstones For Your Wedding

1. They are Real Gems

Contrary to what many think. Lab-grown gemstones are not a substandard or look-alike form of natural gemstones. They are chemically, physically, and optically identical to their mined counterparts.
Manufacturers like BIRON® Gems produced lab-grown gems from the exact elements that form natural gemstones. It means you can get all the value in a mined gemstone in its laboratory-created counterparts. Speak of the sparkle, luster, colour, and beauty, you have it all in lab-grown gems.
This explains why no one would know if you are wearing a lab-grown gemstone or not. Since they have the same characteristics, there are no distinguishing properties between both classes of gems.

2. They are Less Expensive

Perhaps, the funniest attribute of lab-grown gemstones is that for all their value, they are way less expensive than mined gems. And we are not talking about just a few punds in price difference here. You may be able to get a lab-grown diamond for half the price of an exact natural counterpart of the same carat size. The beautiful thing is the price difference is even more noticeable when buying gems of higher carat size.
Meanwhile, if you already have an amount budgeted, buying a lab-grown gemstone can help you get jewellery of higher carat value and better cut than you would if you go for a natural gemstone.
The shorter production chain and shorter production time are part of the reasons why lab-created gemstones are more affordable.
