Today I have a delightful terracotta wedding to share with you. This beautiful Berkshire barn wedding is a picture of autumnal colours, even if it did take place in May last year. The weather however was very autumnal with rain throughout pretty much most of the day, however it stopped long enough for some gorgeous portrait photos. Roxanne and Andrew created a lot of the wedding themselves making it super personal and full of character. They also made the whole day vegan, from the wedding breakfast to the wedding cake. Big thanks to Gregg Kmita Photography who was there to capture the day for us.
Roxanne and Andrew were married on 15th May 2022 at Ufton Court, Berkshire. ‘Not only was the location ideal with a barn and manor house with large grounds to match our theming but they are a charity so all profits go back to their charity work. We had 67 guests, we spent about a year and a half planning the wedding but I got a lot done in the first 12 months.’

Happy Monday everyone and welcome to another busy fun filled week on the blog! I hope you all had a good weekend? Mine was chilled and relaxed, just what I needed as the next few weekends I’m away or out, so lots planned in the diary! I am starting the week with this rustic dream of a wedding. Eleanor and Nathan fell in love with East Soar Farm as soon as they visited it, it gave them everything they wanted to host their South Devon Farm Wedding. They wanted a vegan menu, lots of space for DIY projects, and filled the barn with recycled decoration, along with autumnal themed flowers and lots of personal touches. Friends and family all chipped in and helped them bring their vision to light, making the day super personal and full of love. Eleanor and Nathan are so obviously besotted with each other and these photos by Samuel Box Photography really bring out the love and fun between this gorgeous couple.
Eleanor and Nathan were married on 17th September 2022 at St. Mary’s Church in Totnes with the reception at East Soar Farm, Kingsbridge in South Devon. ‘My grandad was the Vicar of St. Mary’s and all my family get married there. We visited East Soar farm as our first venue, and fell in love and decided immediately we wanted to get married there. We didn’t even look at any other venues. We love the owners and their values. The venue is also used for young people with additional needs, which we loved. There are also many animals (sheep, donkeys, horses) which adds to the experience. Our guests were able to spend the night before at the venue in tipi tents, and the owners cooked us a Potjie (South African stew). They also stayed on the wedding night too – it was so intimate, cosy and special. It also has multiple different parts of the venue to use, and put your own stamp on, including a hayloft, a big open faced barn and a main barn. Many people get married in the field which overlooks the sea – but we decided to have our welcome drinks there instead, as getting married in the church was important to us as Christians. We had 100 people for the day, and an additional 20 people for the evening. It took us one year to plan for our wedding.’

The wedding planning process can be intense from beginning to end. Checklists help couples stay organized while planning, however these can often only offer traditional ideas. If you want to make your wedding day a memorable one then you need to think outside the box! By adding in some fun ideas that are creative and personal to you, your guests will go away with great memories of a fun filled wedding day. Transform your wedding into an unforgettable experience with a few simple ideas!
Choose an unconventional venue to host the wedding. Weddings are typically held in city halls, churches or event spaces, which can be pricey and are often overrated. Why not hold the wedding somewhere special to the betrothed, like a local park? Breweries, libraries, train stations or aquariums are other unique spots to host a wedding. Outdoor spaces provide gorgeous natural scenery that can minimize needed décor and make the event stand out.
It’s relatively cheap to rent an outdoor space like a park for a few hours for an event, so it will likely maximize the wedding budget, killing two birds with one stone. Adventurous couples can have their event on top of a mountain, on their favourite hiking trail or underneath a waterfall for some extra adventure. Ensure to provide blankets or other items for guests to protect themselves from the elements depending on the weather.

Today is all about Boho Lux as we head to Tulum in Mexico for the exquisite Jewish wedding of Denisse and David who were married on 23rd June 2021 at Naala Tulum. What a day this was, every element of this wedding is totally gorgeous, the Chuppah is stunning! The flowers breathtaking, the table set up is a dream. The attention to detail for this whole wedding is out of this world. I just know you are going to be blown away. Big thanks to Alejandro Souza Foto for the wonderful images and to My Planner Journal for submitting it to me.
