‘Wild and Romantic Boho’ Love on an Organic Farm in Somerset

This morning I am delighted to share with you this ‘Wild and Romantic’ Bohemian styled shoot. The shoot took place on 9th May 2024 at Huntstile Organic Farm in Bridgwater, Somerset and the Quantock Hills, Somerset. It was submitted by both the photographer and the florist who wanted to create wedding inspiration for those bohemian couples looking to elope or do things with a more ecological outlook. The result is this gorgeous outdoor wedding set up, simple yet effective with the underlying bohemian theme. From flower crowns to flower filled boats, vows in the woods to wild flower cakes, this shoot is a pure joy from start to finish.

A romantic, wild, magical elopement set in three breathtaking locations, showcasing handmade elements from handpicked suppliers. A timeless celebration of the season and landscape, styled to enhance and work seamlessly with the surroundings.

More about the shoot

The locations themselves provided much of the inspiration for  this shoot.
The first was the orchard by the lake at Huntstile Organic Farm where the apple blossom was in full bloom. We set up a tablescape with handmade ceramic bud vases and bowls, a three tier wedding cake and taper dinner candles under a flower cloud made of fresh and dried flowers and framed with an arch of blossom. The wedding stationery, which was prin ted on 100% recycled handmade paper, incorporated natural romantic simplicity and a rustic charm. The bride wore an elegant and beautiful boho-style dress and a veil with handstitched text which perfectly complimented the unique handmade rings and jewellery. The combination of soft pinks and warm neutral makeup added a delicate touch to the scene, and her hair was styled into floaty boho curls adorned with flowers. The groom wore a white shirt and braces – simple and relaxed to fit with the surroundings and his bohemian bride. For the final scenes at this venue the bride floated in a rustic boat filled with a mix of dried and fresh flowers, full of texture and colour.

The second location was the ancient oak woodlands in the Quantock Hills where we set up a small intimate scene within the embrace of the moss covered trees. We wanted to celebrate the magic of this place with delicate subtle flowers that looked like they were growing and in keeping with the beautiful surroundings. A small tablescape was nestled into the surroundings with enough room for some simple white flowers, a cake decorated with woodland herbs and wildflowers and a candle.

The third location was in the moorland hilltops of the Quantocks Hills with wide open skies and views of the surrounding hills. We timed these images to capture the magical golden light at the top of the hill. The views gave a spectacular backdrop to an intimate scene between the wedding couple.
