This afternoon I have another beautiful styled shoot for you. All this week I am featuring styled shoots with a autumn/Halloween theme, todays is a very subtle but it really is a beauty. The shoot took place last month in Hiddenite, in North Carolina at Mill Creek Farm it features the most gorgeous couple, who were married last year. The first thing I loved about this shoot was the brides outfit. The modern two piece looks stunning, the black velvet top, mixed with the metallic copper skirt is just sublime! Then the gorgeous colours, the deep tones mixed with the bright accents, really highlight how the summer months have ended and that autumn has arrived. A simple, elegant yet modern shoot showcasing that autumn really can be as beautiful a month to get married in as Summer.
This styled shoot was inspired by the seasonal transition from summer to fall with a modern twist which is why it is titled “On The Edge of Autumn.” There were so many elements that stand out from the crowd. One is the bride’s two part wedding gown – including a black velvet, long sleeve classic top paired with a copper metallic, form fitting skirt with hand painted modern art on the hem – all hand sewn for our bride by MeaganKellyDesigns. Secondly, Mill Creek Farm Wedding Venue is brand new to North Carolina and the wedding industry. Only a handful of couples have had access to host their intimate wedding, family portraits or engagement session on the property. It holds over 100 acres of hills and valleys. There are countless opportunities to catch the perfect sunset, dance in the wooded forests, and walk through the lush greens. There is also a dried up waterfall on the hillside which we brought the couple to. It was the first time the giant rock was photographed. In addition, the arbor created by FlowerDiva was handcrafted by the owner and her team. With the copper, wired balls filled with unique florals as well as the hanging lanterns made for the most original arbor we have ever seen! Lastly, the cake had a floating third layer. I mean who has ever seen such a thing? Cake Expressions by Lisa outdid herself by creating such a showstopping element to our styled shoot.
Furthermore, the models are a real life married couple. They are middle school sweethearts who were married in December of 2019. I actually had the honor to photograph their big day as well as go to high school with them. Needless to say, I got to witness the very first chapters of their love story.
My favorite memory of the day was after the sun set behind the mountain. We all looked at each other with relief, but mostly excitement. We did it and we knew all the hard work paid off. It was the most magical day witnessing all the details and creativity from each vendor come together perfectly.
photos are just charming, and the pair is very beautiful, be happy
