Diary of a Boho Bride - Claire and Tom, entry 3: purple and green inspiration boards

It’s a busy time of year for us wedding planners, and I am currently run off my feet getting everything sorted and ready for this years brides. Today we are talking colours and themes with my lovely couple Claire and Tom who are getting married on 8th September at Utopia in Skipton.

When I went to visit them at the venue a few months ago, they wanted my input on how to theme the day and what colours to use. The venue is quite unique in that is it a very modern building, all glass fronted and timber on the outside but set in some beautiful gardens with a huge array of flowers and plants.

Claire didn’t want a shabby chic, or country cottage look, both her and Tom wanted to keep the modern feel that the building was giving us without going down the traditional route. So we took inspiration from the gardens and plants around us and decided that a mixture of purple, green and cream would work well, keeping it natural but making it edgy and modern with the choice of flower arrangements and decoration.

Things that Claire knew she wanted were:

Paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling
A cake table, with her guests brining in their own cakes
Lots of fairy lights inside and out
Lots of outside lanterns and lighting
Out door furniture

So I have now put together some inspiration boards for them to help with their theaming and colour ways, I always find them useful when working with a couple as we are sure that we are on the same page!
