Todays wedding is a fun filled, chilled out day, full of yellow, blue and lots of sunflowers. Becki and Marcus decided on a marquee wedding so they could add their own personality to the day. They brought in lots of bright blue and lovely yellow and incorporated with rustic touches, including wild flowers, hessian bunting, chalk boards and old family photos. The celebrations were topped off with chinese lanterns being let off at the end of the night containing messages from the guests. Thanks to Jessica Grace Photography for the images.

Becki and Marcus were married on 2nd August 2014 at St Andrew’s Church, Farnham then Waverley Abbey House, Farnham. We had visited the ruins on many occasions before we were engaged and always thought how beautiful they were. When we found out we could have our reception there, it was a done deal. We had 90 guests in total and it took 1 year to plan.

How they met
We met working together in a shop in Guildford 7 years ago.

The Proposal
He whisked me away to the New Forest for a spa and cycling weekend and proposed in a field of wild New Forest horses in the dappled sunshine.

How did you allocate your budget
70% venue and food, 10% church and 15% dress. 5% entertainment.

How did you choose your photographer
Jesse was a lovely friend from school who happened to be a wedding photographer that we liked. We loved her relaxed and natural ‘capture the moment’ style and her caring personalised service!

The Dress
The dress and veil were from Farnham Boutique and the shoes were from Hobbs.

The Suit and Bridesmaids
The groom’s and best man’s powder blue suits were made for Marcus and Dan by Stephen Bishop, Woking. The bridesmaids’ dresses were from Debenhams.

Theme or Colour Scheme
The theme was relaxed and rustic with lots of sunflowers, inspirational quotes and bright blues!

Flowers
Sunflowers, delphiniums and white roses.

Decoration
Wild flowers on wooden bases, wicker baskets, hessian bunting, old family photographs, chalkboards, garden games and inspirational confetti.

Food
We had a meat and veggie BBQ-style main course with a trio of desserts; raspberry syllabub, chocolate mousse and lemon tart.

Wedding Cake
The wedding cake was from a local cake shop and was decorated in sugar sunflowers and delphiniums, lovingly made by Marcus’ mother and grandmother.

Entertainment
We had Danny from DJ2K who played a good selection of music to suit a very diverse taste in music!

Buy or DIY your Stationery
The fantastic stationery was designed by our lovely bridesmaid, a graphic designer.

Personal or Handmade Touches
The cake and the stationary were very personal, made by close friends and family.

Special Moments
We cannot pick just one moment; the whole day was perfect! However, setting off a lantern, filled with messages from our guests, with our best man and bridesmaid was very special.

Advice to other couples
Just relax; it will all sort itself out in the end.

Biggest surprise
All the guests forming an arch for our exit to ‘Wonderwall’; it was impromptu and a great way to leave.
