Entry 18 of my Photography Diary and this time we are in Cornwall. Nik and I went down to Cornwall in June for our wedding anniversary, we combined it with a weeks stay before we headed off to Bournemouth for Nik’s best mates wedding.
I was brought up in Cornwall so go down to see my mum regularly, but this time we decided we wanted to make a bit more of it and spend a week down there and do a bit of sight seeing. The weather was changeable but over all it was pretty good.
We spent our first day at the Fowey Hall Hotel for our wedding anniversary, it’s a spa hotel so we enjoyed a massage when we got there followed by a lovely relax in our gorgeous room overlooking the sea, then dinner and cocktails. Absolutely gorgeous we were treated very well and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The next day we headed off to my mums. Once unpacked we went for a lovely walk along the coastline, the views were amazing, this was followed by a roast dinner when we got home. The next day we went to Padstow for a mooch about, after a pastie and cream tea we went across to Rock which was beautiful. The sun then decided to come out and we chilled out on the beach for a bit. That evening we took Mum and Larry out to dinner to Sams on the beach, anther amazing meal. The next day our plan was to go to Penzance, except we only made it halfway there before the gear box on the car gave way. The whole day was then spent trying to get it sorted and getting a hire car sent out to us. For most of this I was in my mums garden lapping up the sunshine, so all was not lost, but poor Nik spent hours trying to get the car sorted and off to a garage. That evening we went into Fowey for a slap up meal at Sams to make up for it. It’s mine and Nik’s favorite restaurant, just amazing! The next day was our last full day before we headed off to Bournemouth and we spent it with my mum and took her to Porfell wildlife park. I get my love of animals from my mum, so she had a great time! The next day we left for Bournemouth. A lovely few days was had, we ate, drank and relaxed and it was lovely to spend some time with my mum, she lives so far away that we don’t get to see each other as often as I’d like. I’m pleased to say that since these pictures were taken I have lost a stone in weight! and by the looks of my chipmunk cheeks I needed to!
These photos were taken with my camera using both my 50mm and my 28mm as well as my iPhone. I have edited the camera photos using VSCO FUGI Superia 400- while adding a few of my own tweaks in. I made about 6 different presets.
Some lovely pictures here Kelly. I love the food ones. Gosh you and your mum are alike xxx
