What made you start your business?
I grew up with a very entrepreneurial father so starting a business seemed to be a logical step for me. I’ve always loved art and design so I decided to create a small range of wedding invitations and booked to attend a local wedding fair. It was a huge success!

Where are you based?
I am based in Manchester and I cover nationwide via my website. I have also worked with a number of international customers from places such as the USA, Dubai and Switzerland.

How would you describe your style?
My designs are elegant, luxury and super glamorous I love to combine contemporary graphics and beautiful typesets with ribbons, fabric trims, laces and sparkly embellishments. It’s so exciting to receive an invitation to a wedding and I think it’s important that the invitation itself should reflect the importance and style of the event. People rarely send letters written on beautiful stationery nowadays with social media and mobile phones to keep in touch so I think customised handcrafted invitations really do leave a lasting impression.

What is your biggest achievement so far?
My biggest achievement so far is making the transition from working full time to running the business full time. It was a big step but I’m glad I took the leap.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love the variety of running my own business most of all. No two days are exactly the same. I like being more in control of my own destiny and learning so much on the journey. Setting up and running a business isn’t the easy option but the rewards are huge.

What would be your ideal wedding to work on?
I’d love to work on a super glam celebrity wedding with lots of sparkle!

Can you give me some information on your pricing structure?
I offer simple print invitations suitable for customers with a smaller budget starting at £2.35, I have a mid range of invitations at around the £3.65 – £4.75 price point and I also have some to super deluxe invitations for those brides looking for something extra special. Most designs are offered in a range of different styles too – flat one-piece invitations, classic cards and pocketfold invitations so these too offer some flexibility depending on the customers requirements and budget. I have extras add-ons availble such as guest address printing on the envelopes and presentation boxes with tissue liners.

What’s new?
We have recently launched a range of baby stationery – new baby cards, memory boxes, christening invitations and prints.

What is your ideal way to spend a day off?
Either walking in the country with my husband and dog, hanging out at my mum and dad’s drinking endless cups of tea and chatting with my family or sharing a bottle of wine with my friends.

What can you never leave the house without?
Definitely my phone!

Who would be your 5 dream dinner guests dead or alive?
Coco Chanel, Ellen Degeneres, Emmeline Pankhurst, Madonna and, ermmm…. Robbie Williams?! 

What would you do if you won the lottery?
I would open a sanctuary for mistreated and homeless dogs. And of course buy lots of handbags and shoes…!

If you weren’t running your business, what would you be doing?
I’d love to be an interior designer.

Carly work is amazing and inspirational, thank you for sharing this interview. My favorite cards are the ones at the end with the roses.

Ah thank you Giorgio! They are my favourite too :) I got married last year but as we had a winter wedding I didn’t use this design for my own invitations – if it had been a Spring/Summer wedding these would have been my first choice for sure!

Thank you very much for the lovely post Kelly xxx
