Save the Date – Pencil us in!

I do love my job, and I love it when I come across new ideas that I have never seen before. So imagine my delight when one of these great ideas came from one of my own couples.

Tom and Laura booked me months ago to help plan their August 2011 wedding in Ibiza. They have been a delight to work with and I can’t wait for their wedding it’s going to be totally gorgeous!
After an extensive venue search, that saw me scourer the length and breath of Ibiza, and then a whistle stop tour for Tom and Laura of their shortlisted venues, they have come to their final choice of Atzaro. Atzaro is a beautiful, lush and very exclusive wedding venue. (I nearly wet myself with excitement when they told me) so with the contracts sorted, Tom and Laura are ready to get some invites out.

Laura had mentioned she was looking to send out save the date cards to make sure that her guests had plenty of notice, so when I met up with them both this weekend I was so excited when Laura handed me this

and when I gently opened it, inside was this

Genius!!!
I love this idea so much I just had to show you all. Laura is so clever, especially when I found out that had sourced every bit of this great idea herself!
Laura tells me:
‘I saw a similar pencil idea I think on Martha Stewart website but I wanted to link it in with the fact we’re getting married abroad- so the front address label was designed to look like airmail, and attached to the pencil was a luggage tag.
The pencils were from a company called ‘studio’who make lots of personalised bits and bobs. The luggage tags and postage boxes were from eBay sellers. I also designed the ‘pencil us in’ and ‘ibiza/baleares’ images (used on the luggage tags) in adobe illustrator and then had these made into self-inking stamps from vistaprint. My friend Bekah (who helped me make them all) also helped me make the badges/magnets using a badge making machine.’

Phew………quite a bit of work there, I am SO impressed!

I can’t wait to get started on the next phase of Tom and laura’s wedding, now we have the venue sorted we can start concentrating on the smaller details, and if this save the date idea is anything to go on, I really can’t wait!!!
