Guest blogger:Accessories for your wedding dress

Today’s Guest Blogger is Hayley from The Harroagate Wedding Lounge She is talking to us all about accessories for your wedding dress. the accessories can be as important as the dress and can add that real wow factor to your outfit, so not to be missed!!

Ask thde Expert – Wedding Dress Accessories

Your bridal accessories can totally transform your whole wedding look so it is really important to make the right choices.
When you are choosing your gown it is best to try lots of different styles and ideas, every dress is unique and as such requires a whole new look when it comes to accessories.

Take Veils for example there are some gowns that scream out for a veil to complete the look while for others a veil would spoil the dress. When you are shopping for your gown, ask the bridal consultants what they would recommend, they will have purchased accessories that directly complement the gowns they stock.
If you opt for a dress that is very simple at the back a full length veil with a bit of sparkle would be great to add some interest and dimension, if you are opting for a more Vintage or Art Deco inspired gown why not try out some bird cage veils a funky alternative to the traditional veil/tiara combination.
For a simpler more relaxed look just using a classic corsage or fresh flowers in your hair can look stunning

Footwear can be a big worry for brides. Do you bust the budget and go for the Jimmy Choo’s you have dreamed about as much as the dress? Or do you conserve the budget and possibly even your feet and opt for something more sensible?? My advice……..blow the budget! As a bride it is about feeling a million dollars from top to toe and if that means splashing out on the dream shoes then you should! So many people say to me “I will just go for any old shoe because nobody can see them anyway” my response……show them!! Shoes are to be proud of, and not just that they hold memories. Don’t look back on that wedding photo of your shoes on the morning of your wedding next to your dress and think why didn’t I go for the Choo’s!!

Jewellery is another choice to consider. Again if you dress is understated you could opt to bring it to life with a stunning oversized chocker. If your dress is one shoulder you can even out the look by adding a dazzling cuff to your wrist on the other side. If the top of your dress has lots of detail remember not to overdo it on the necklace, a simple pendant with Swarovski crystals and pearls will look elegant and classy.
