Today’s wedding takes us to Austria for a 2 day wedding celebration which is as relaxed and home-made as they come. The couple Tanja and Markus chose to get married on 17th August with a small reception of only a handful of friends, at a little old-fashioned café which is located in the middle of a forest at a lakeside. The main reception/party was then held on 31st August at the blue moon Party. They had 55 guests and it took 3 weeks to plan.
Tanja and Markus say that ‘The reception was very heartfelt, individual and easy-going.’ and you can certainly tell that by the photos which have been sent in by Siegrid Cain. Both the smaller reception and the larger party are both laid back, full of love and totally personal to them. Everything was put together for them by friends and family, proving that you don’t need a massive budget or a huge amount of time to put together a wedding that is unique to you!
How they met
We met 23 years ago through mutual friends – since 13 years we share our life and love each other. it’s a simple as that! There was no proposal! Suddenly we knew it was time for a change – and that we want to keep sharing the paths of our lives. It was quite a spontaneous idea!
How did you choose your photographer?
Our photographer was a surprise gift! We had a love-shoot with her a few years ago – and it was then that she totally enchanted us.
She has this special gift of looking deep into your heart and capture exactly that moment. Really very special!
The outfits
The Dress was completely thrown together out of my wardrobe. There was no suit and no typical bridesmaids. Markus wore his favourite T-Shirt and pants and our bridesmaids were all out friends!
Food
We had an asian-indian vegetarian buffet.
The Wedding cake was made by one of our best friends Mike – a little island “Kosis Island” because we love to travel. It was a dream come true!
Entertainment
There was a fire-show and we let thai sky lanterns fly. Most of the entertainment were surprises like self-made poems, a photo-book, guitar play and songs and even a Friendship-circle made from drift-wood.
Flowers and decoration
wildflowers and roses. Bamboo, drift-wood, pebbles, sea-shells and lots of little details. Everything was made by us and our friends.
Special moments
our photographer Siegrid, who suddenly turned up as a present with a huge red bow on her head! Friends who burst into song and/or played the guitar for us.
Our family and friends were and still are our very special highlights – because of them our day was so wonderful and special for us.
Advice
Don’t stress yourselves! Just listen to your heart, be spontaneous!
The way of love is to be able to laugh with each other!
