Welcome back to our weekly Make up Lesson here on the Blog. It’s week 3 which means that today we are looking at Lips and Cheeks. In case you have missed the other weeks so far we have covered
make sure you check them out as they are full of useful hints and tips to help create the perfect day make up look. Next week we will be showing you how to move this daytime look into a night-time look in a few easy steps.
Once again I’d like to say a big thank you to Catherine for the Make Up, Bil from Hair Aesthetics, Nicola Thompson for the Photography , Styal Lodge for the use of the Venue
So on todays tutorial – Week 3 LIPS and CHEEKS
I’ll pass yo over to Catherine………….
1) I like to have the eyes completed before I apply blusher to ensure I have applied the right amount. When applying blusher a face without eye makeup it can be tempting to over apply blusher to make up for the fact the rest of the face is quite bare. Once the eyes are made up, the blusher can then sometimes look too much.
I applied a peachy coloured blusher the apples of Kelly’s cheeks using a soft, fluffy blusher brush. I really love NARS blusher in ‘Orgasm’, which gives beautiful, glowing flush of natural colour.
The best way to apply blush to the apples is to smile! Don’t take the colour too close to the nose and blend upwards towards the temple. Start off with a small amount and then add more if you feel it is needed. It is easier to add more than to take too much away!
1) To create a natural yet defined lip, I lined the lips in a natural nude/peach shade. Do not draw one continuous line but instead, use soft strokes feathering the line. I then took a cotton bud to soften any harsh edges.
2) I then filled in Kelly’s lips with a complimenting colour. A real stroke of genius is the Line and Laquer by Daniel Sandler with has both liner and lip colour in one package- perfect for bridal hand bags! The colour I used here was ‘Peach Parfait’.
Come back next Friday when we take this day look into a night look
