I do love a wedding with lots of colour and today’s wedding is just that. An autumn wedding but not in the traditional muted tones of browns and yellow, this wedding is jam packed with the most amazing bursts of orange, terracotta and pinks, which perfectly against the white backdrop of their wedding venue. Not only are the colours amazing but so is their decoration design. Modern ideas mixed with the most stunning florals, all go together to create not only the most beautiful flower filled ceremony area but a jaw dropping reception. But the true star of the show has to be the dog, what a cutie! Katie and Wesley were married on 14th October 2023 at The Providence Cotton Mill in Maiden, North Carolina and their day was captured by Him & Her Photography
Katie and Wesley’s autumn wedding at the historic Providence Cotton Mill was a stunning celebration of love, friendship, and personal style. As two baseball-loving best friends from Charlotte, their love story unfolded with a fun engagement involving the Charlotte Knights mascot. Their wedding day reflected their playful and warm personalities, with a colour palette inspired by the fall season—featuring rich tones of burgundy, orange, yellow, and accents of pink and green.
The day was meticulously planned with the help of Elle & Co and coordinated by Lori of Imagine This!, ensuring everything ran smoothly. Katie’s vision for a wedding that was “beautiful, fun, and over the top” came to life with thoughtful details and a light-hearted ceremony. The couple incorporated personal touches, like a special first look with Katie’s father and “flower dudes” who hilariously tossed petals from fanny packs. Katie’s golden doodle, Riley, made a memorable appearance down the aisle, thanks to Furever Friends Charlotte.
Following the ceremony, Katie changed into a second gown, and the couple enjoyed sunset portraits around the venue. The reception was lively, with guests entertained by a pizza truck, lawn games, and a caricature artist. The fun continued as surprise guests, Homer from the Charlotte Knights and Sir Purr from the Carolina Panthers, joined the celebration for a dance-off. The evening concluded with a final dance before a grand exit and a late-night pizza run in Charlotte.
The wedding was a perfect blend of heartfelt moments, lively entertainment, and personal touches that made the day unique and unforgettable.
