Today I have a simple but totally beautiful pre wedding shoot for you from the hugely talented Igor Demba. I have only recently discovered Igor but I am totally in love with his work! I love his style, his use of light, and textures and the composition in his images, his images are totally relaxed but tell a story through each and every one of them! Stunning work! I hope to be posting a lot more of his work in the future.
The shoot features Emma and Chris Clark who had their pre wedding shoot on 18th September at the New Forest, near Bartley. It’s a much more relaxed un themed shoot than I would normally post but i thought that Igor’s photography just spoke for itself!
Emma and Chris describe their shoot ‘Igor was fantastic – we were put at ease straight away by doing some silly activities that helped us get comfortable in front of the camera. After that, posing was easy and he really knew how to capture the best in us.’
How they met
We met at a national Christian youth festival – we had both gone with our church as youth leaders, but because the church is so big, hadn’t met before then and thought we were from different ones! We ended up going out for coffee with a mutual friend and got on very well. A month later Chris started up a conversation on facebook chat to get to know each other and we were shocked when we realised we’d been in the same place every Sunday morning for 4 years without a clue who each other was! We decided to meet up for a few coffees and then a dinner date, and on the 11th October 2010 we decided to make it official. We had been together 11 months at the time of the shoot.
The proposal
Chris didn’t wait around long, proposing just 4 months after we started going out. Because he worked evenings, including Valentine’s Day, we had ours a day early. It started out as a fairly straightforward Valentine’s meal at Wagamamas, and then we went up to Portsdown hill in Portsmouth, where we had spent several romantic dates watching the city at night below us. Chris went to the back of the car to get a present – chocolates and a rose, throwing me completely off the scent. He had planned on going for a walk and getting down on one knee, but the rain was torrential, so he simply asked in the car, and I said yes of course! We both now have fond memories associated with the sound of heavy rain on glass.
Tell me one the thing you love most about each other
Chris – Emma’s sacrificial nature for me
Emma – Chris’s gentleness coupled with his desire to lead our family well – call me traditional but I want a man who’ll take the challenge of being the head of a household.
The wedding was held on 22nd October at King’s Community Church, Hedge End, They had a Burgundy and Ivory theme with some gentle vintage pink in the flowers to ‘soften’ them.
Best bit of the wedding
Chris – Saying the vows (I was also the most nervous about this!)
Emma – That first moment when Chris saw me in my dress, catching up with people I hadn’t seen in a long time, and seeing all my months of hard work click together to make the day what it was.
