Happy Friday everyone! Wow that came round quickly! My first week back in the office for 2024 and it has absolutely whizzed by!! What about you? How has your week been? I have been busy making plans for 2024, January is normally such a non eventful month, so I like to make sure I have lots in the diary to look forward to, anything to get over the winter blues, the sooner spring shows it’s delightful face the better! To finish off the week I am taking you over to Italy for some summer sunshine with the delightful wedding of Arianna and Luke. This wedding is all about style, elegance and sophistication, a beautiful location that does the job with no fuss and no need for lots s of extra decoration. What a pure delight of a wedding. Big thanks to Andrea Antohi for the gorgeous photos.
Arianna and Luke were married on 27th August 2022 at Relais Villa San Martino, Martina Franca, Puglia in Italy. ‘Puglia is our favourite region in Italy, it was a no-brainer! We had 130 guests and it took 9 months to plan.’
How they met
We met at high school, we were friends of friends. We are 30 now and met around 15 so, a long time…
The proposal
It was perfect, just the two of us watching the sunset in Mykonos. It was the perfect setting, so peaceful and private. It was the most romantic moment and I have never felt so special.
How did you allocate your budget?
We asked around to friends that had been married abroad and knew roughly what to expect cost wise.
Where did you splurge and where did you save?
We do not regret spending a penny on any of the vendors or wedding venue in Italy, it was the best value for money and everyone worked so hard to make the day as perfect as possible. I’d say we probably splurged on dress and shoes.. but it was all worth it!
How did you choose your photographer?
We found Andrea Antohi on Instagram and as soon as we had our first video call with him we knew he would be the best photographer for us. He had the best boho/ chilled vibe and was going to be perfect for us.
The dress
Dress was Pronovias. Shoes were Giannico
The suit and bridesmaids
Groom suit – Suit Supply. Groomsmen suits – Massimo Dutti.
Flowers
All white and green, chosen by the wonderful Michele Zaurino.
Decoration
The venue didn’t need any additional decor, it was beautiful! We had gorgeous flower
arrangements, arches and table settings by Michele Zaurino – that was the perfect final
touch.
Food
We had aperitvo stations, live cheese maker, apulian style bbq, pastas, salads, cheeses and meats. We then had a sit down meal of pasta, meat and tiramisu !
Wedding cake
Wedding cake was patisserie cream, vanilla sponge
Entertainment
The Mustacci bros! They made the night. They were perfect in every way and we were so lucky to get them to perform at our wedding.
Who supplied the stationery?
Villa San Martino mostly. Wedding invites by Cartalia
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We went to Costa Rica!
Special moments
The ceremony was the most magical moment for us both. Our favourite part was the party after dinner, it was the most fun and all the organising and hard work was done and we could just enjoy the night with our family and friends
Advice for other couples
Don’t listen to anyone else, just do exactly as you want!
Biggest surprise
How much we didn’t care about the small details going wrong, they meant nothing in the grand scheme of things.
