Today’s wedding is a flower filled extravaganza in the heart of the wine country in Italy, a destination wedding with the most stunning of backdrops. I do love a destination wedding, the sunshine, the outdoor ceremony, the alfresco dining and dancing under the stars, what could be finer! And the wedding of Lisa and Dino is just that! Throw in a multitude of the most gorgeous flowers and a delightful blue colour scheme and you have today’s stunning wedding. Big thanks to Andrea Antohi for the gorgeous photos.
Lisa and Dino were married on 9th September 2023 at Masseria Amastuola, in Puglia, Italy. ‘We decided to get married on a road trip we did in Australia in 2018. Everything was so smooth, we had lots of fun and lived in a 4×4 for 4 months while travelling all around the Outback; including visiting as many wine regions as we could! We had approximately 100 guests, as for planning a few months became a few years thanks to COVID.’
How they met
We met in the Opera Bar in the Opera House in Sydney, Australia for a glass of wine. Been together nearly 7 years (plus 2 kids) by the time we finally had our wedding.
The proposal
Dino was carrying the ring for a few weeks in his pocket while we were backpacking in South America. He was waiting for the right moment and he finally proposed when we were walking on a Glaciar in Argentina.
How did you allocate your budget?
The venue was the main splurge because we loved it and stayed for a few nights with all our family and friends who had travelled from far, like Australia and South America. Photographer, music, wedding planner were other important details.
Where did you splurge and where did you save?
Splurged on venue, accommodation, food, wine… Dress. Saved on bridal party outfits by getting them online and in Thailand.
How did you choose your photographer?
Recommendation and Instagram.
The dress
Dress by Dando London. Pura Lopez shoes.
The suit and bridesmaids
Suits for the groom, groomsmen and father of the bride were all made to measure in Thailand (Boss City). Bridesmaids dresses were online from JJs House.

Entertainment

Who supplied the stationery?
Our wedding planner Enzo did everything, with a little help from Lisa.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We spent a week in Puglia with some friends who travelled from far away and then we went to a resort in Greece with our children.
Personal touches
Selected poems in 4 languages (Italian, Spanish, English, Irish). Plus a poem written for us by one of our guests.
Special moments
The speeches were really special and the wow faces of people when they arrived to the venue. The band and dancing during dinner plus the after party dj.
Advice for other couples
The trifecta Andrea-Enzo-Amastuola makes everything perfect and you don’t have to worry. Get babysitters if you and/or your guests have kids so everyone can relax!
Biggest surprise
How quickly it went and we didn’t have much time to speak to our guests!
