The wedding world is all about small weddings at the moment. The new Covid guidelines have left many of you feeling that you may never get the large wedding you dreamed of. Well today I am going to show you why a small wedding is just as good as a large scale affair with this Beautiful Beach Wedding in Thailand. Zarja and Matic had always dreamt of having their wedding in Thailand, so they enlisted the help of expert wedding planners Wedding Boutique Phuket who made all their wedding dreams come true and got married earlier this year. The whole day looks amazing! The colours, the backdrop, the little detailing and decor is all breathtaking. I just love their use of jewel colours against the light bright sandy beach. The flowers are exquisite and the overall look is just stunning! Thank you to CHANG for the the lovely images.
Zarja and Matic were married on 24th February this year, the ceremony was on the beach with the reception in the Cape Panwa Hotel in Phuket, Thailand. ‘We never wanted to have a big wedding. So we always imagined an intimate wedding on the beach somewhere. When the time came we were already talking for a few years about wanting to go to Thailand. Phuket had really good easy flights for all of us and the photographs on social media of Wedding Boutique Phuket looked amazing. So it was kind of an easy choice. We had 5 guests, we contacted Ilaire probably almost a year before but started planning everything a few months before. Planning was super easy because she really listened to our wishes and kind of read us only by seeing us once through Skype.’
How they met
We met in high school in 2012. Firstly, we were really good friends and spent a lot of time together. After Zarja went to study abroad we actually started dating. So now we are together for almost 7 years.
The proposal
Zarja: “It was our half anniversary and I had a trip planned with my girlfriends the day after. So the night before he prepared dinner in the garden. Because I love Japanese cuisine the dinner included udon ramen bowl, sushi plate, daifuku mochi as dessert. He prepared all of the dishes himself – took him the whole day! The dessert was plated on the tree house and when we got up and sat down, he said he turned on the lights – but I did not really notice. So he said to me to turn around and look. So I turned around and there was a sign saying “Marry me” written in lights. And when I turned he was on his knee and asked “Will you marry me?”. Truthfully I was not sure if it was a joke or he really meant it. But after a few times asking him “Seriously?!” I caught my breath and said “Of course. Yes.”
How did you allocate your budget?
We did not really have a clue how much a wedding abroad costs. When choosing the right budget we said we will have in mind what we get in return. If it is very detailed and the planner gets us, we rather give a bit more than somewhere it does not feel right. With Ilaire we just clicked and felt like it will be as perfect as imagined. We weren’t wrong.
Where did you splurge and where did you save?
Actually we went kind of all in. When we think about it. We added the extra lights for the dinner décor and took the extra team for the filming. Otherwise everything was in the package offered by the Wedding Boutique Phuket – make up for the bride, photographer, one transfer, most of the decorations.
How did you choose your photographer?
Well Zarja was very specific what she wants. We had to think about it a bit more because of it. However, Ilaire realized what she really wants so she offered to contact one photographer who would fit Zarja’s idea. So we came to getting a “YES” from the amazing Phoobes Wiseswong.

If you are thinking of a destination wedding on a beach and aren’t sure. Check out Ilaires page and she will make you fall in love with the whole idea.
Biggest surprise
Probably the view from the deck and the whole dinner arrangement. The pictures do not give the location justice. It is beautiful.
I would like to talk to someone please about the possibility of a wedding around Christmas time for approx 7 people
Similar to the bo Ho one above
