5 Incredible Post Covid August Honeymoons 2021 & Beyond

Planning a post covid-19 honeymoon in August 2021, or beyond, can be a difficult task since this August is usually the peak travel season for families on summer break. Thankfully, there are tons of incredible honeymoon locations around the world that will allow you to enjoy some alone time as you bask in the newlywed bliss. Whether it’s going on a safari in Kenya, exploring the Scottish Highlands, or visiting the vineyards of France, you surely have plenty of choices for a romantic August honeymoon destination.

Kenya

If you’re looking for an outdoor honeymoon, hitting up a safari is a great idea. Home to incredible natural parks, Kenya is the perfect honeymoon destination for couples who love nature and adventure. This is where you’ll get a close encounter with the most incredible animals in the wild, such as leopards, lions, giraffes, elephants, and more. What’s more, Kenya, offers the most astonishing views of nature, which makes for a perfect backdrop as you witness the many different species of animals that roam.

August is a dry season in Kenya, so you’ll be blessed with pleasant weather during your safari honeymoon. Spotting wildlife is also easier at this time of the year since the animals won’t be hiding from the rain.

But the best part about going to Kenya for your August honeymoon is that you will have an amazing opportunity to witness the Great Migration. In this wildlife spectacle, over a million wildebeest will be moving from Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park as they migrate towards the Masai Mara, a scene that’s truly incredible to watch.

Scotland

Scotland may not be a popular destination for a honeymoon getaway, but it has plenty to offer for couples who are looking for a fun and romantic August honeymoon. In fact, Edinburgh alone has plenty of sights and activities for all couples to enjoy so you’ll not run out of things to do even if you choose to spend half of your honeymoon here.

Go on a romantic stroll on Edinburgh’s gorgeous cobblestone streets and check out the various attractions along the Royal Mile, especially during the Edinburgh fringe festival. Visit the stunning Edinburgh Castle that’s perched high on a hill and end your day with a drink or two at one of the pubs at the Old Town.

If you want to escape the city, hire a car near Edinburgh airport and drive towards the Scottish Highlands and into the Isle of Skye. Marvel at the breathtaking views of the countryside and quaint villages as you make your way towards the Highlands. Spend a day or two at the Isle of Skye and go on a hiking adventure with your loved one. With its jagged mountains, unique rock formations, and gorgeous coastline, Isle of Skye has lots of spectacular hiking spots to offer for everyone.

Singapore

Blessed with great climate all throughout the year, Singapore is a wonderful place to go to for your August honeymoon. This Southeast Asian country may be small, but it has tons of things on offer for all kinds of honeymooners, not to mention an amazing health care and contact tracing. From frolicking at the beautiful beaches of Sentosa Island to feasting palatable cuisines and exploring the parks and gardens, there are so many reasons why Singapore is a great choice for your honeymoon destination.

Singapore might be a cosmopolitan city but it’s a haven for nature lovers. It has gardens and parks, but the most notable of these is the Gardens by the Bay, a nature park in the middle of the city that’s known for the towering Supertree Groves that dazzles beautifully at night. After exploring the parks, hop on a boat, and enjoy a romantic cruise down the Singapore River.

For foodies, a trip to the various hawker stalls in the city is a culinary adventure that you wouldn’t want to miss. This is where you will find authentic Singaporean cuisines, from wanton noodles to carrot cakes and chili crabs and satays! But if your idea of a Singapore honeymoon is to relax at the beach, then head to Sentosa Island to discover the city’s best beaches.

Cuba

The Caribbean is one of the most enjoyed honeymoon destinations in the world. But when it comes to honeymooning in the sunny Caribbean, Cuba is probably the last place on your mind. Yet, this island nation is a perfect destination for your August honeymoon next year. Aside from having great weather all year round, it’s known for its breathtaking natural beauty, old-fashioned colonial buildings, and exquisite beaches.

Havana is fun to explore if you want to discover Cuba’s rich culture and history. The city is dotted with colorful crumbling buildings with vintage cars parked in its bustling streets. Stroll down the cobbled streets, and check out the city’s museums, historic forts, and Spanish style mansions. Dance to rumba music and cap your day with a glass or two of mojito.

Of course, your honeymoon in the Caribbean won’t be complete without a visit to the beach. Like most of the islands in the Caribbean, Cuba is blessed with beautiful beaches. One of these is Varadero, known for its 20 km-long white sandy coastline that’s home to several all-inclusive resorts.

France

When it comes to the best honeymoon destinations in the world in August, France is always on top of the list. And although August is also peak season in France, there are many places in the country where the tourist crowds are smaller allowing you to enjoy a relaxing and stress-free honeymoon with your partner. For wine lovers, head to the sleepy town of Reims and explore its vast Champagne vineyards. Take part in the Champagne Tourist Route, which features walking and cycling tracks that will take you through the vast vineyards with some beautiful lakes along the way.

Provence is a great place to visit for nature lovers. Here, you can marvel at the gorgeous lavender fields and scenic wineries and farms. An unusual August honeymoon in the French Alps is also a great idea. With its dramatic landscapes and a wealth of outdoor activities, you’ll surely enjoy every moment you spend here with your partner. The French Alps is also home to several ski resorts that cater to honeymooners. They can arrange all sorts of activities for you to do, such as taking long hikes, which makes your post covid honeymoon getaway a truly memorable one.
