Kelly and Mark’s Beautifully Stylish Environmentally Friendly Outdoor Wedding by Raluca Rodila Photography

Happy Friday everyone, and how are you all? I hope you have had a good week and that the sun has been shining where you are? I am super exited for the weekend as I am off to Chester to visit my dear friend and her Family. They have just bought a motor boat (I know, how fancy?) so we are going out on that tomorrow afternoon and the weather so far looks glorious, Happy Days! I am finishing off the week in style with this totally gorgeous Eco friendly wedding, and it really is a stunner! Kelly and Mark were married on 25th May 2019 in Lakemont in Georgia, US. They are both environmental scientists, so the whole wedding was Eco friendly from the straws to the beer, the confetti to the decor. It all looks amazing and the attention to detail is outstanding. A truly gorgeous wedding, brought to you by the talented Raluca Rodila Photography, Enjoy and Happy Friday everyone!

Raluca the Photographer tells us more about the day

Kelly and Mark met in High School at their local grocery store where Mark worked. Kelly would tag along with her mom to help with the grocery shopping as a sweet excuse to see the cute bag boy she had a crush on. Then in 2015 when Kelly was saving baby sea turtles on St. Catherine’s Island, she met a professor from Georgia State who also happened to have mentored Mark while he pursued his B.S. in Environmental Science. Dr. Meyer mentioned Kelly to Mark and hinted that she would be a good match for him, and so the spark was ignited. Three years later these two environmental scientist were married by Dr. Meyer, under an arch built by Kelly’s dad, in a stunning outdoor ceremony. Each wore their hand drawn and custom designed (by the bride) Chaco footwear featuring all of the species of trout in Georgia and celebrating their first kiss as husband and wife amidst a shower of biodegradable confetti. At their green reception they gifted each of their guests a reusable metal straw in a case made of recycled bottles. Everything from the lack of plastic at their Farm to Cocktail bar to the kind of beer they served was based on what was the most environmentally friendly option. Because their original dream for their wedding had been to have their wedding standing in a river near Lake Rabun, we work up early the morning after their wedding crowded into the car with half of their wedding party and drove our way down dusty gravel roads to some of the most beautiful rocky scenery to document their love in the place where this love story developed.
