Today we are sticking around the UK with this super cute wedding from Easthampstead. Back in my planning days I happened to plan a wedding in this very venue, a gorgeous location next to some water, very pretty. A great location where you can also camp in the field opposite and the location gives you full freedom to use the suppliers you want and have the wedding you really want. You can see more of the wedding I planned HERE. Today though,it is the wedding of Fiona and Murray, who have created a beautiful rustic style wedding, that is fun, relaxed and full of pretty details. Our wedding was full of love, laughter, food and dance! It was a fantastic celebration full of our close family and friends.

Fiona and Murray were married on the 27th August 2016 at Park View Farm, Old Wokingham Road, Easthampstead. ‘We wanted a relaxed, informal tipi wedding and instantly fell in love with this beautiful venue. We had 130 guests and the wedding took 1 year to plan’.

How they met
We first met at High School when we were 14. Murray was the naughty boy and Fiona was the good girl! From 16 until 23, 7 years passed with no contact and then we bumped into each other on a night out! 8 years later and we’re married!

The proposal
Murray had a day off in the middle of the week where he had planned to buy the engagement ring. He had planned for us to go to the New Forest for the bank holiday weekend but when he got home after purchasing the ring he knew he wouldn’t be able to hide the secret for three whole days so decided to cook a roast dinner for me (yes, looking back it did seem strange!) and propose to me on a random mid-week evening. We then went away for the weekend and could both celebrate!

How did you allocate your budget?
We didn’t start with an actual budget. We made a list of all the essentials and made every effort not to go crazy.

Where did you splurge and where did you save?
We knew we didn’t want a normal marquee and quickly decided we were going to splurge on the tipis! Everything else we kept under control. Because we were responsible for organising everything we had the freedom to choose our own caterers which meant we were able to save a lot compared to hotel prices.

How did you choose your photographer?
Olivia our photographer was the only aspect of the wedding we organised through a wedding fair.

The Dress
I wore a gorgeous MoriLee dress and Carvela Shoes. My diamond earrings and necklace were borrowed from my mum.

The suit and bridesmaids
The Boy’s suits are from Next. Bridesmaids dresses are Needle and Thread

Theme or Colour Scheme
We went with a dusky pink, natural theme

Flowers
Roses, carnations, gypsophilia, alstroemeria – bought from local garden centre. A team of helpers did all the table flowers the Friday beforehand. Fiona’s mum created the bouquets with roses.

Decoration
Lots of bunting, dangling hearts!

Food
Scones with arrival drinks. Hog roast, salads and chocolate/fruit meringues for main meal and Mediterranean style mezes for supper.

Wedding Cake
Naked Victoria sponge cake made by Fiona’s work colleague. Her first ever wedding cake! There was none left by the end of the evening…enough said!

Entertainment
Blue Juice live band and interim DJ music. All guests had been asked to provide a song request as part of their RSVP.

Stationery
My mum made the name card holders and the cutlery pouches. She made every single favour box which had home-made Scottish tablet inside.

Special Moments
We loved the actual ‘tying of the knot’ during our humanistic ceremony. We loved watching everyone playing the garden games, the band and all our guests letting their hair down and we loved toasting marshmallows on the large firepit at the end of the night.

Advice for other couples
Make a list and try and stick to the essentials. It is so easy to keep adding to the list but honestly, if you get the key things right – ceremony, food, band your guests will not even notice every single small detail!!

Biggest Surprise
No-one ended up on the pond!!
