Happy Monday to you and how are you all this fine Monday morning? Did you have a good weekend? Mine was spent at Tramlines Festival in Sheffield and we had an awesome time! Such a good weekend! This week it is the start of the summer holidays, so if you are currently juggling work and child care I feel your pain! Today though I have a wonderful woodland wedding to share with you courtesy of Nicola Thompson. Katie and Sam wanted an outdoor wedding so when they found Captains Wood Barn they were delighted. They filled their day with lots of different music, kept their decoration simple with a festival vibe and made it super personal by doing a lot of it themselves. A gorgeous day, I’m sure you will agree.
Katie and Sam were married on 15th September 2018 at Captains Wood Barn, Maldon in Essex. ‘We fell in love with the venue from the moment we turned into the drive. We both love the outdoors and wanted to incorporate nature into the day, we always wanted to get married in the woods. Captains Wood Barn is simply stunning, it has private woodlands, ponds, a huge barn, loads of open lawn space and tractor…what more could you want. We had 150 guests and it took a year and a half to plan, with lots of ups and downs!

Happy Friday everyone, I hope you have had a good week and that you are looking forward to the weekend ahead! I am off to a festival this weekend. It’s a local festival in Sheffield called Tramlines it’s around 35,000 people going over 3 days, but the best bit is because it’s local we can go home to bed and have a shower and our own bed. It’s just me and Nik tomorrow and then it’s family day on Sunday so Dexter will be joining us. I’m looking forward to seeing Annie Mac, Rag ‘N’ Bone man and Nile Rodgers!…anyhow, lets crack on with today’s wedding. Rachel and Ben have been kind enough to share their wedding with us today and it’s a real beauty. They were lucky enough to hold the reception in Ben’s parents garden, so the whole day is super personal. They stripped back the decor and opted for foliage only, no flowers and minimal fuss. Rachel looks stunning in her Grace Loves Lace dress, what a gorgeous couple they make! Big thanks to The Vedrines for the beautiful images.
Rachel and Ben were married on 25th May 2019 with a ceremony at St Bartholomew’s Church, Sproxton, England. Reception at Ben’s parents’ home, Sproxton in Leicestershire. ‘It meant a lot to Ben to get married at home and I fell in love with his parents home the first time I visited when we were young and still just dating. It’s a beautiful space in a beautiful part of the world and now all the more special to us. We had 100 guests to the day and 140 in the evening. The day took more organising than expected. I have my own business and manage my own part time hours which really worked to my advantage.

This afternoon I have a real treat for you. The chance to win your wedding favours with the amazing Hola Mola. Now this competition is very personal one to me, as Ana the owner of Hol Mola is a good friend of mine. Our sons go to the same school and she lives 2 streets away from me, so I have got to know Ana very well over the past year. Her cakes, desserts and chocolate treats are OUT OF THIS WORLD! It really is no word of a lie when I say I have never tasted cakes like hers! I ordered myself a chocolate birthday cake this year from Ana, and it was Soooooo delicious. She then went onto bake Dexter’s birthday cake, as well as a number of chocolate treats for Nik and I! Honestly she is a real talent when it comes to her knowledge of chocolate. Nik and I both agree we have never tasted chocolate like it! It’s her amazing secret ingredient!
So just for you my lovely readers, Ana has been kind enough to offer up an exclusive competition for you to win your wedding favours.
50 favours individually wrapped
These favours can be personalised with chocolate transfer edible ink with personalised message or image.

Ana will chat through your ideas, and come up with a design that fits with your wedding theme, either form the pictures here, or another suitable design you may have.
You can use these as wedding favours or as a fabulous addition to your dessert or sweetie table.

Well hello Thursday! have I got a jam packed blog for you today. This afternoon I will be sharing a competition with you that you won’t want to miss, so pop back then for more details. This morning I have this gorgeous and totally jaw dropping wedding from Maria Rão. It’s the super stylish wedding of Teresa and Gabriel, who were married in Marrakesh in Morroco in April of this year. The whole wedding looks spectacular. The Ceremony was held in the olive groves, so has a natural, soft look, with some gorgeous flowers. They then moved to the sunset roof bar for their cocktail hour, where they were entertained by traditional Moroccan musicians and acrobats. The reception, for me, is the most striking with the amazing table arrangements, abundance of flowers and many, many candles. The whole day looks stunning, I’m sure you will agree.
Teresa and Gabriel were married on 6th April 2019 at Villa Taj Marrakech in Marrakesh, Morocco. ‘Gabriel grew up in Morocco and still has family in Casablanca. Marrakech was a great halfway point between our family in the USA and our home in Dubai. The desert landscape reminded us of our love of the Dubai dunes, while the Atlas Mountains provided the perfect backdrop to highlight our love for the great outdoors. We had 75 guests and we planned the wedding in just under 5 months.’
