Myrlie and Brandon’s Tropical Boho Beach Wedding in Costa Rica by Jonathan Yonkers

Happy Friday everyone, I hope you are well and happy and have had a good week. If you are in the UK and it’s hot where you are, like it is here in Sheffiled, I hope you are coping OK. We had Dexter’s birthday yesterday which was lots of fun and then we have round two on Saturday, so I’m hoping it might cool down a but by then, but that might be wishful thinking! Another place where it looks hotter than hot is Costa Rica, which is the location of today’s wedding. Myrlie and Brandon were married on 10th June 2023 at Dreams Resort & Spa, and what a stunning day it was! Weddings in Costa Rica are always top draw and this one’s no exception! From the stunning flowers to the ceremony arbour, the beautiful reception decoration to the bridal party, they all look spectacular, every detail of this wedding is just gorgeous. Big thanks to jonathanyonkers photography & video for the amazing photos and to Mil Besos Costa Rica for planning such a fabulous day.

Meghan Cox the planner tells us more about the day

This tropical boho beach wedding was nothing short of extraordinary! Myrlie and Brandon trusted us to make their dream wedding come true in just a few months and we loved fulfilling their vision. This amazing couple wanted to wow their guests with an unforgettable celebration that included fireworks, fire dancers, and cigar rollers, and we knew the perfect spot for them: Playa El Jobo.

Myrlie and  Brandon added their personal touch to every detail of their wedding, from the passport-themed itineraries that welcomed their guests to the adventurous activities they enjoyed together. The bridal party shared a special moment before the ceremony, when the bride surprised them with matching silk robes as a token of her gratitude.

The bride and groom rented out Dreams Las Mareas Resort & Spa, where they welcomed their guests with a pool party at sunset. The next day, they exchanged their vows on the sandy beach, surrounded by the sound of the waves and the beauty of nature. The ceremony held a naturalistic and bohemian vibe. The color story had a pastel palette, lush greenery, and vibrant tropical accents. The triangular arch was a masterpiece of dried pampas grass, palms, and exotic flowers such as birds of paradise, roses, anthuriums, lilies, and daisies. The reception was equally spectacular, with a DJ, a custom dance floor, and bistro lights creating a cozy and festive atmosphere. The tables were decorated with gold and wooden elements, and more colorful florals that matched the bridal bouquet.

Myrlie and Brandon’s wedding was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that we are honoured to have been a part of. Their wedding was more than a ceremony; it was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and an exuberant celebration of family and new beginnings.
