You don’t very often get to experience the quieter side of Blackpool do you? We are so pleased to be able to showcase a pre-wedding shoot with images from Claire Penn today. It features Rebecca and Gary as they start their wedding journey together and Claire has done a, frankly awesome job of capturing the happy couple, totally alone in a tourist resort that never sleeps.

“We had lots of fun in the beautiful sunshine with an amazing photographer who made both Gary and I feel so relaxed. We danced on the pier, shared an ice cream, took a ride on the carousel whilst laughing and enjoying the moment.”

Rebecca and Gary held their pre-wedding shoot on the 27th of April in Blackpool. They are getting married on the 24th August in Poulton-Le-Fylde.

How they met
One of our friends introduced us one evening in a nightclub. We then started exchanging emails where Gary would ask me on numerous occasions to go on a date with him. It was over the Valentine’s Day and I remember getting a card delivered to work asking me on a date!! Haha! He would not take no for an answer. So….. We went on a date to a lovely tapas restaurant, we got on so well and didn’t stop chatting all night.
Then would you believe 7 years later we’re planning our wedding and looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together.

The proposal
We went to Australia for a 5 week holiday in December 2011. As part of the trip we sailed the Whitsunday Islands where Gary arranged a secret picnic on Whitehaven beach on one of the Whitsundays private secluded beaches. There was champagne and strawberries, it was like our own little paradise.
I could tell Gary was up to something as he seemed really nervous and didn’t seem to relax. He then starting to tell me how much he loved me and how much I meant to him, I started to get really nervous at this point. He then got down on one knee and out popped the question……. I cried for about 10 minutes and then eventually got round to giving him an answer. Of course it was YES!! We then spent the evening on the boat celebrating over a few glasses of bubbly, feeling so lucky to have one another and excited to start planning our special day.

One thing you love most about each other
Rebecca “Even though Gary and I have been together for our 7 years, every day we spend together the butterflies are still there”
Gary “I love Rebecca’s ditzy ways, so innocent, cute, funny and never gets old!”

Rustic Vintage, Soft pink and white.

What are you most looking forward to?
-Meeting each other at the altar and saying our vows in front of all the people we love.
-Rebecca is looking forward to her Grandad’s speech, the tears are already there just thinking about it.
-We are looking forward to taking in becoming husband and wife and having a real good party and the dancing.
-Seeing our wedding pictures by the wonderful Claire Penn!
