Inspiration Friday: Wedding Post Boxes

I was asked by one of my brides recently where she could get a wedding post box from, I gave her a couple of ideas and then said I would have a proper look for her…………..well that’s just what I have done!

More and more couples these days are deciding not to go with a traditional gift list and ask for money or honeymoon donations instead, this means that some sort of wedding post box is necessary for every couple these days.
It seems there isn’t a massive amount of choice if you are looking for something different, yes admittedly there is a huge amount of boxes you can buy and decorate yourself, but if your not into the whole DIY thing then what do you do?

Here is one I put together

So I have done my best to find you some options, I did find quite a bit of tat about if I’m completely honest, it seems there is a gap in the market for this sort of thing.

Actual Post Boxes:
There are quite a few companies out there who have started the trend for the good old fashioned English mail boxes, well not real one but replica ones, cute and quote eye catching. You buy them or hire them.

Or for an alternative option why not go all American with this option:

Traditional Box options:
This seemed to be the biggest option I found out there and probably the cheapest. If your not a DIY sort of person is the traditional box option. Many on the high street and lots that you can mix and match with your own colour and theme. These can then double up as memory boxes after the wedding to keep all your wedding bits and bobs in.

Alternative Options:
This is my favourite section, think home made ideas, vintage details, shabby chic………..anything goes! My favourite idea was an old battered chest of draws used to put both presents and cards in, painted/decorated in what ever sort of theme you wanted, the top could be filled with old perfume bottles, trinkets, and lots of collectible bits and bobs, unfortunately this image is only in my head and I couldn’t for the life of me find it anywhere on the Internet!…………another idea would be to use a hat box?

I think out of all of them the above suitcase is my favourite option, it can be an old suitcase for those vintage lovers of you out there, or you could pick a cool designer piece for a more modern twist on it!

If you have any ideas please feel free to share with us all and add your comments below.

I absolutely love the suitcase! I agree it’s my favorite option as well! A really cool idea would be to add little souvenirs of places the couple has travelled together or they can make a game of it and place things related to their honeymoon site for the guests to guess!

One of the most important considerations when thinking about what to you use as your wedding card post box is the security of it. One reason the replica post boxes have become so popular is because they offer a little more security as you would have to have a screw driver on you to gain access to the cards inside. We offer 2 different styles for hire and they are very popular. :-)
