Saturday Cinema: Trish and Richard’s Sunny Lake District Wedding by Philip White

Happy Saturday everyone and welcome along to another Saturday Cinema! Today’s wedding comes from a very talented man who I had the pleasure of working with at my last wedding of the season this year. Philip White, based in Lancaster, is a great  man to be around. I really enjoyed working with him, I can recommend him whole heartedly to anyone looking for a film maker for their wedding day. As well as that he was the winner of this years Wedding Industry Awards for best Wedding Videographer!

So, onto today’s featured presentation. It’s the Beautiful wedding of Trish and Richard who were married on 4th June at Linthwaite House Hotel in the Lake District. The wedding is stunning and  Trish looks amazing! Phil has done a superb job of capturing the day, his mix of music and audio is a refreshing change and those suns spots…divine! As for the dancing Chinese dragon, I did have a good chuckle to myself…so cute!

I asked Philip What his favourite part of the wedding was? ‘As the sun went down we escaped for 5 minutes to film some cheesy ‘golden hour’ walking shots overlooking Lake Windermere. We slowed this down to fit the pace of the film and to properly show off Rich’s ‘cat that got the cream’ look as he takes everything in’.

Why do you think a couple should hire a film maker for their wedding? ‘Every week I attend weddings and speak to couples who didn’t get a wedding video when they married, and it is always their biggest regret. Hiring a film maker or wedding cinematographer instead of an ‘old school’ videographer provides an opportunity to capture the day in a stylish ‘movie-like’ way that really has an impact and evokes so many emotions. Yes, the quality will always outweigh the quantity and generally the price will usually be a little higher, but it is without question worth it.’

What do you think makes a good wedding video? ‘Audio is the backbone to all of my films, and is equally important to anything that can be seen. Great speeches (that haven’t been Googled) and unique vows can help to tell a proper story through your film.’
