Boho on English Wedding…..we have been blogged!

A big thanks to Claire at English Wedding.com for featuring Boho on her blog this week.

I have built up a great relationship with Claire over the last 6 months. We have grown our blogs at the same time, and she always receives random emails from me when I get stuck with wordpress and bless her heart always helps me out! Claire has created a fantastic blog full of information, great real weddings and showcases some of England’s finest wedding suppliers, she really does a fantastic job.
It’s been great working with her, she kindly posts my wedding articles and inspiration boards on her blog and has been a great friend to me over the last few months.

So I just wanted to share the lovely artical she has written about me and the interview that is on her fantastic English Wedding sight

‘I’ve made good friends with a few wedding businesses only recently on Twitter. Kelly Hood, wedding planner at Boho Weddings and Events, is a wonderful lady and – as those of you who follow me on Twitter will probably know – has me constantly in admiration of her energy and enthusiasm for wedding planning. She’s a real expert when it comes to wedding suppliers in and around Sheffield and Yorkshire, and absolutely devoted to her wedding planning work.
So when Kelly emailed me for a chat, I pounced and asked for a mini-interview. And here it is!’

What inspires you?
I just love weddings, I love everything about them, I guess I am a true romantic at heart! It is a real privilege to be involved in people’s special days and I see it as a real honour that I am allowed to share those special moments with them.
I love it when I meet couples who want to push the boundaries a bit, who want to do things differently, but most of all I am inspired when I can see true love between a couple, nothing can compare with that!

What do you love most about your work?
I love it all, I know that is a cop out… I guess the best bit really is watching a couple get married and knowing that I have helped them plan their day and been involved with them in whatever level they have allowed me.
I love getting a new project to work on and then doing all the research that goes into making it a reality. I am super organised as well, so love this element of the job. I also love meeting my suppliers and new venues, I think it’s really important that I get out meeting as many of them as I can.

Do you ever get unusual requests?
Every wedding is different, that’s what makes this job so great, and I do try and work with couples that want to do things differently so I find that most of the weddings I work on aren’t your normal run of the mill wedding.

Do you have any exciting projects coming up?
I have some great weddings booked in for next year, as well as a few enquiries for our Boho Ibiza side of the business, so I am hoping for a few trips out there next year as well. I am also just in the process of starting the planning for a big (non wedding related) event in August, it’s going to be a big outdoor festival type thing… very exciting and a different area for me to branch out to.
Also I am currently organising the Sheffield Pride Civil Partnership tent which happens on 26th June and from this I have a few other wedding fairs booked in that I am organising in the next few months/next year.
And really exciting – I’m planning a Trash the Dress shoot. It’s all top secret at the moment but all will be revealed in the near future to people who follow me on Facebook or Twitter. I absolutely can’t wait!

What one piece of advice would you give readers of English Wedding?
Have the wedding YOU want, not the wedding you are told you should have by friends and family, if you want to do things differently then do it! Your wedding should reflect your personality as a couple.
Also do your research. There are so many good wedding websites, blogs and a huge amount of good quality wedding suppliers out there to choose from. Don’t just go with the first one you find. Shop around and use suppliers that really get you and that you get on with.
Most of all enjoy it all, the planning is so much fun, but don’t lose sight of why you are getting married, remember there is a whole life time ahead for you together as a couple, so try to focus on why you are getting married instead of all the little tiny details that on the day really won’t matter!
