Sheffield Food Festival breaks the world record…all in the name if ice cream!

Here at Boho I LOVE food, after weddings it’s by far my favourite subject! so when I heard that my favourite ice cream makers Our Cow Molly were hosting this years Food Festival in Sheffield I had the date marked in my diary for weeks!

So on Sunday 6th June, at what started off as quite a damp dark day we set off to the Our Cow Molly Farm to sample a few local delights. The event showcased some of Sheffield’s, and the surrounding area’s, best known food producers, as well as introducing some of the smaller ones.

As well as all the amazing Food there was a selection of children’s entertainment in the form of an off road land train for the kids and Bouncy Castle Game and baby animals (my favourite)

The farm also celebrated the opening of their new Ice Cream parlour, which pulled in quite a crowd, in fact they were queuing round the building for the amazing Our Cow Molly ice cream.

The highlight of the day had to be the record breaking attempt for the quickest ever ice-cream making. The guys at the University of Sheffield had been practicing for weeks to get the combination of ingredients and Liquid Nitrogen correct. On the day though it all came together as they smashed the world record of 18 seconds down to 10.47 seconds……….well done guys!!!!

All in all we had a fabulous day, I had some lovely food from Co Co Catering my husband and friends had some tasty hot dogs from one one the BBQs, we bought some home grown meet from one of the local butchers (which I won’t be eating…..I don’t eat cows or sheep, they’re too cute!) and we took home some scrummy cup cakes from Fancie.
Food always puts a smile on my face and by the middle of the afternoon the sun was shinning and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. A fantastic day was had by all……..well done to all involved.
