Morgan and Matthew’s Joyful Garden Wedding in Virginia by Kaitlyn Burdette Photography

Happy Wednesday everyone, if you are in the UK you may be in the middle of half term at the moment, hows’s it going? I wish the weather would sort itself out so we can get some fresh air, it’s forecast for snow today and tomorrow here in Sheffiled, I think it’s safe to say we all just want spring to hurry up and show her face! However to brighten your day I have the gorgeous wedding of Morgan and Matthew who were married on 10th October 2025 at Mankin Mansion in Richmond, Virginia. They held an elegant fall wedding filled with the most beautiful autumnal flowers, a delightful outdoor ceremony, followed by a joyful reception, filled with great food, delicious cake and lots and lots of dancing! All captured perfectly by Kaitlyn Burdette Photography.

Morgan and Matthew’s connection unfolded naturally, the way the best relationships often do. Though they were the last two in their Virginia Tech friend group to cross paths, a mountain weekend getaway finally gave them the space to linger over shared jokes and easy conversation. By the end of the trip, something undeniable had taken hold. Nearly seven years later, that same sense of quiet magic showed up again on a peaceful stretch of sand in Virginia Beach. What Morgan thought was an early-morning surf turned into a sunrise proposal as dolphins danced in the waves and Matthew dropped to one knee behind her. With the ocean humming and the world still waking up, the moment felt both private and surreal.

Their fall celebration at Mankin Mansion carried that same warmth and intention, designed to feel welcoming and effortlessly alive. A metal floral arch framed their vows after the two shared private promises earlier in the day, grounding the ceremony in intimacy before opening the celebration to their loved ones. Guests flowed easily between the garden, terrace, pergola, and velvet lounge spaces while a live band blended classic rock with early-2000s favorites, keeping every generation on their feet. Candlelight flickered across lush florals, creating a glow that felt both cozy and celebratory. Morgan transformed her look by trading her veil for a scarf and bustling her gown as the courtyard filled for their first dance. Laughter peaked when friends lifted Morgan into the air in a playful nod to their Virginia Tech days, and the night ended sweetly with macarons disappearing almost as quickly as they appeared. From a quiet morning breakfast together to a dance floor buzzing late into the evening, the day felt like a true reflection of who Morgan and Matthew are: connected, joyful, and surrounded by the people who know them best.
