Tannaz and Parsa were married on 1st July at Pasea Hotel & Spa, Huntington Beach, California, Los Angeles. Both the ceremony and reception were at the same location with couple portraits on the beach. ‘We wanted a venue that felt romantic, intimate, and naturally beautiful without needing too much added decoration – and being right on the ocean meant we could take our portraits on the beach. As soon as we saw the space, we could imagine celebrating there with all of our closest family and friends. It had the relaxed elegance we were looking for. We had approximately 120 guests and it took around 10 months. Our wedding day felt warm, emotional, romantic, and incredibly joyful. It was elegant but relaxed, filled with our favorite people, beautiful details, lots of laughter, and moments we will remember forever.

How they met 
We met through mutual friends and immediately felt very comfortable around each other. What started as a friendship naturally became something much more, and after several years together we knew we wanted to build our life together.

The proposal
Parsa planned an intimate surprise proposal and kept the details very personal. Tannaz thought they were simply going out to spend some time together, but he had arranged a beautiful setting and proposed during a quiet moment when it was just the two of them. It was emotional, simple, and completely unexpected.

How did you allocate your budget?
We prioritized the things that would have the biggest impact on both our experience and our guests’ experience: the venue, food, photography and video, music, and decor. We tried not to overspend on smaller details that we felt wouldn’t matter as much after the wedding.

Where did you splurge and where did you save?
We splurged on photography and videography, florals, entertainment, and creating a beautiful atmosphere for the reception. We saved by keeping some decorative elements simple and choosing details that could be used in more than one part of the wedding.

How did you choose your photographer?
Photography was extremely important to us because it is one of the few things you keep forever after the wedding. We wanted someone whose work felt cinematic, emotional, and natural rather than overly posed – and someone familiar with Persian traditions. We also wanted a photographer we felt comfortable with personally, because you spend so much of your wedding day together.

The dress 
The dress had a timeless, romantic silhouette with elegant detailing. Tannaz kept the accessories refined and minimal so that they complemented the dress rather than competing with it, along with classic bridal shoes.

The suit and bridesmaids
Parsa wore a classic tailored suit with a clean, modern look. The bridesmaids wore dresses in soft neutral tones that complemented the overall color palette while still allowing everyone to feel comfortable and individual.

Theme or colour scheme
We didn’t want a very strict theme. The overall inspiration was modern romantic with a subtle bohemian influence. We used warm neutrals, ivory, champagne, soft blush, natural greens, and touches of earthy colors.

Flowers 
We wanted the flowers to feel organic and slightly undone rather than extremely structured. The arrangements included lots of greenery, soft white and blush flowers, roses, and seasonal blooms with different textures.

Decoration 
The decor was elegant but natural: candles, warm lighting, floral arrangements, greenery, neutral linens, and small personalized details throughout the reception. We wanted everything to feel cohesive without making the space feel overly decorated.

Food
We served a combination of Mediterranean and contemporary dishes so there would be something for everyone. Dinner included several shared appetizers, fresh salads, grilled meats, vegetarian options, and a selection of sides, followed by desserts later in the evening.

Wedding cake
We chose a simple, elegant tiered cake with minimal decoration and fresh flowers. The design matched the soft, romantic style of the wedding, and we chose classic flavors that we knew most of our guests would enjoy.

Entertainment
Music was a huge part of the celebration. We had music throughout the cocktail hour followed by a DJ for the reception, and once the dancing started, the dance floor stayed busy for most of the night.

Who supplied the stationery?
We chose simple, elegant stationery that matched the neutral color palette and overall aesthetic of the wedding.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We wanted somewhere where we could completely relax after the wedding, so we planned a romantic trip with a combination of beautiful beaches, great food, and some sightseeing.

Personal touches
We incorporated several personal details that reflected our relationship and our families. Some of the music selections had special meaning to us, and we personalized parts of the reception so that the evening felt like our celebration rather than simply a traditional wedding.

Special moments 
Seeing each other for the first time was one of the most emotional moments of the day. Another highlight was looking around during the reception and realizing that almost everyone we love was together in one place celebrating with us. The speeches and dancing with our families were also unforgettable.

Advice for other couples
Don’t get so focused on creating a perfect wedding that you forget to actually experience it. Choose a few things that are genuinely important to you, invest your energy there, and don’t stress about every tiny detail. On the wedding day, something will probably not go exactly according to plan, and almost nobody will notice.

Biggest surprise 
How quickly the entire day went! You spend months planning everything and then suddenly the wedding is happening and it feels like a few hours. We were also surprised by how emotional some of the little unexpected moments became.
