Jade and Jay’s ‘Rock n Roll Wedding in The Woods’ by Amy Faith

I have the BEST wedding to share with you today, it’s super fun, super stylish and full of rock n roll vibes. So what happens when a tree surgeon and a vet nurse get married? Welcome to Jade and Jay’s wonderful nature loving rock n roll wedding. The whole day is just so fun and cool, from the gothic style outdoor ceremony, to the super stylish bridesmaids dresses, the groomsmen’s beards, the tattoos, the dried flowers, the vinyl  table names and of course Jade and Jay who are the coolest bride and groom I have seen in a long time. I just love this wedding, the energy it brings and how it is unapologetically so personal for this couple. Big thanks to Amy Faith  for the awesome photos.

It was just perfect – the whole vibe from the start was so relaxed, and genuine – which is all we wanted. It went totally smooth from start to finish, keeping to our “rock n roll wedding in the woods” theme perfectly. Everyone just had a laugh!

Jade and Jay were married on 9th August 2025 at St Lukes Bombed out church, Liverpool with the reception at The Crafty Swine, Liverpool. ‘When Jade first moved to Liverpool, she walked past a wedding set up at the bombed out church, it was breath takingly beautiful! And she instantly thought “I want to get married here”. The whole vibe was just us – gothic, natural and a bit different. Jay is a tree surgeon and Jade is a vet nurse, we wanted a nature vibe intertwined with our rock n roll music taste, which is super important to us! We had 60 guests with 100 at the reception, it took about a year to plan.’

How they met
Jade was working at a metal rock festival in London where Jays band was playing, we met at a dive bar at about 2am, and the rest was history! We’ve been together 8 years before we tied the knot.

The proposal
Jay took Jade to lake Windermere in their self built campervan for an evening picnic, they were just relaxing, drinking and eating in the moonlight, and Jade had no idea when she turned around Jay was on one knee!!

How did you allocate your budget?
We wanted to keep things as cheap as possible! We’re definitely not big grand wedding people, however still wanted it to be memorable!

Where did you splurge and where did you save?
We splurged on the venues, food and décor! Most importantly, The photographer, which was totally worth it for all the gorgeous memories she captured for us

How did you choose your photographer?
Jade was recommended Amy by a friend, she followed Amy on Instagram and instantly knew – her style was perfect for us. We didn’t want airy-fairy cheesy photos, just genuine and to the point! And she totally delivered.

The dress
The dress – Paula by Enzoani. Shoes – lace and favour. Flower crown – Petalhead

The suit and bridesmaids
Suit – House of Cavani. Bridemaids dresses – Azazie

Theme or colour scheme
100% Autumnal, natural colours!!

Flowers
Dried flower from Petalhead – She couldn’t have made them more perfect!

Decoration
Dried flower pieces, table runners, wooden coasters, tree logs, music vinyls, and candles! Oh and mini musical instruments!

Food
SO MUCH AMAZING TAPAS!

Wedding cake
The wedding cake was insane – by Catherine Braidy, she made us a woodland tree stump with gorgeous mushrooms, it was  2 tiered – carrot cake and vegan chocolate orange.

Entertainment
Our friend’s band are a wedding band! They are all acoustic and do great covers. My friends Erik and his brother Ralf, also did a little guitar and sing set, they covered our favourites, it was brilliant.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We went on a little mini moon in the campervan all around Scotland with our dog, Ruben. Then we went to Japan for3 weeks – It was a life changing experience!

Personal touches
The seating plan was hand made by my very talented brother-in-law, Dane, and the vinyls on the table to correspond were just 50p vinyls from the charity shop, with the artist printed and print sticked! It worked a treat. Some of the logs on the tables were from Jay – as he is a tree surgeon!

Special moments
The confetti was amazing, it formed a whirlwind around us, and it was just a super gorgeous happy moment. Our friends Erik and Ralf performing was also really touching and really made our day!

Advice to other couples
RELAX! It will all fall into place – nothing is perfect, and it won’t go perfectly, but it won’t matter, trust us!

Biggest surprise
That it all went SO well (And the amount of food, and that it didn’t rain!!!)
