I have an absolute beauty of a wedding to share with you today, with the jaw dropping wedding of Rachel and Michael. Rachel and Michael were married on 22nd May 2024 at a private villa in Rome, Italy. The back drop to their day is outstanding! Imagine hiring out this venue for the whole weekend, having your closest friends and family stay there with you…..Wow!! The day is a pure delight from beginning to end, the ceremony area is simply beautiful with the most gorgeous flowers and intimate set up. Moving onto the al fresco reception area, with a stunning limoncello escort card instillation, which is so fun and looks fantastic. Then there are Rachel’s 2 gorgeous wedding dresses, the cake, the selfie area……I could go on! Go take a look yourself, the images have been provided courtesy of the wonderful Claudio Fasci.
Rachel and Michael were both born and raised in Chicago, a city they loved for its sunsets over Lake Michigan, its towering skyscrapers, and its vibrant spirit. They met at a jazz festival in a downtown park. She was there to accompany a friend, while he was playing saxophone in a small local band. It was love at first sight, and their story began with a melody that would continue to play in their hearts.
When they decided to get married, they knew they wanted to make the day truly unique. They both shared a deep love for Italy, a passion sparked by stories from Michael’s grandmother, who was originally from a small town near Naples. Rachel, always fascinated by art and history, had dreamed of visiting Rome since she was a child. Over coffee and a glass of wine, they decided that Rome would be the perfect backdrop for their “I do.”
Planning wasn’t easy, but with the help of a local wedding planner (Beatrice), they managed to create an intimate and unforgettable ceremony. The location? A private terrace overlooking the Colosseum, bathed in the golden glow of the Roman sunset.
Rachel wore an elegant gown inspired by the classic silhouettes of ancient Rome, paired with a delicate veil that danced in the wind. Michael opted for a dark, sophisticated suit, with a pop of colour from a burgundy tie—a nod to the Italian wines they loved so much.
The ceremony was officiated by a family friend, while the small, close-knit group of guests grew emotional under the clear sky. After saying their vows, Rachel and Michael strolled hand in hand through the streets of Trastevere, followed by a photographer who captured every glance and smile.
The evening ended with an impromptu dance in the piazza, surrounded by street musicians playing an Italian melody. As the world seemed to pause for a moment, Rachel whispered to Michael: “Every time we see Rome, we’ll remember today. And it will always feel like home.”
