‘Woodland Romance’ Wild, Natural, Boho Luxe Wedding Inspiration

Today’s styled shoot is everything I love about weddings. The most gorgeous woodland setting, stunning flowers, muted pastel tones, beautiful decoration and a real chilled out vibe. The shoot took place on 1st August 2020 at Longton Wood in Maidstone, and was put together by Masha Unwerth and a wonderful team of local wedding suppliers. The shoot features the most stunning table scape, set deep in the woods, with the most dreamy ceremony backdrop. I just love the colours, the bohemian vibe and the natural elements running through the whole shoot. Perfect inspiration for a chilled out summer micro wedding or elopement.

Woodland Romance mixed with Boho Luxe. A wild, woodland styled shoot inspired by a vision of a bohemian country luxe wedding, A wild, yet very natural shoot.

Masha the photographer tells us more about the inspiration behind the shoot.

This styled wedding shoot drew a lot of inspiration from the beautiful surroundings at The Longton Wood in Maidstone, Kent, where the shoot took place. Utilising the natural woodland flora and pine trees as the backdrop for the shoot and enhancing it with the co-styling between myself (photographer, Masha Unwerth) and Kelly, of All Things Pretty Wedding and Events.

The colour palette was drawn from the deep and earthy tones of our natural environment with elements of neutral colour which brought this shoot to life. The colour board, bohemian styling and wild florals expertly curated by Lucinda at The Flower Alchemist and Haley Gee at Cacti & Wildflower, at every turn create an undeniably dreamy vision when you take the traditional and mix it with something else that makes your wedding stand out.
The florals painted the perfect country boho luxe wedding and tied in greatly with the wedding stationery by Abbie Worton. A beautiful terracotta wedding invitation suite laid out on a wooden palette table with the delectable cake by The Artisan Cake Kitchen, alongside abundant florals and bohemian décor.

I was won over the ASOS wedding dress with cross back for this shoot. The overall bohemian style of it and movement of the skirt gave the whole day such a fun free-spirited vibe! The look for groom is very dapper too, for the more casual male readers, who says that everything must be traditional?
Emma Bygrave, our hair stylist created an effortless feeling that almost seemed undone look embedding naturally into the surroundings. Becky Downton focused her wood luxe feel of the shoot into soft makeup with the neutral nude on the lip.
The unusual hand-engraved yellow sapphire engagement ring and matching wedding bands by the London Victorian Ring Co. worked extremely well for the shoot because of the alternative, no-diamond element that tied into the look and feel of the styling and theme.

All Things Pretty Weddings and Events set the boho chic wedding arch for Rohiny and Ben to be married by. The arch was styled by The Flower Alchemist and Cacti & Wildflower whose vision was to tie in with the earthy palette of colours and bohemian mood throughout. I was very keen on complimenting it with the textured product such as dried mixed florals to add depth and contrast. Natalie Davies, the ceremony celebrant (Rose & Grace Bespoke Ceremonies) brought in a personal touch and works with couples who want to break free from restrictions and have a personalised, relaxed ceremony.
The day was filmed by the incredible Hanh from Hanh Made Films who is specialising in wedding videos for the modern, romantic, carefree and loved up couples!

It’s the dreamiest boho setting for a wedding, created by a collaboration of many talented businesswomen, with the idea that their collective output would bring to life something wonderful!
