Candyce and Hayden’s Texas Ranch Wedding by Annie Austin Photo

For today’s wedding I am taking you off to Texas for the wedding of Candyce and Hayden who were married on  December 2nd, 2023 in Wimberley. With their one year wedding anniversary on Monday what better time to showcase their gorgeous country wedding. ‘This day in Wimberley was a love story woven into the land, where every moment felt like it belonged to the trees and sky, honest and unadorned. It’s one of those weddings that breathes boho without even trying—a quiet kind of magic that lingers long after you’ve left.’  It is so lovely that he couple got married on Candyce’s grandparents ranch, it really does make the day even more special, and adds that real level of personalisation to the day. Big thanks to Annie Austin Photo for the lovely photos.

Annie the photographer tells us more about the wedding

A day filled with tales of the past, dreams of the future, and a whole lot of great big hugs. Candyce and Hayden planned to be wed at Candyce’s Grandparents Ranch in Wimberley, Texas. The reception that followed was held at the Wimberley Community Center. The sentiment behind all of the details was so unique and greatly meaningful. Candyce’s aunt, a very talented tattoo artist, drew her custom invitations. The images on the invitations were of things around the family ranch home. The cactus was right by the front, so I took the time to document the letter and the cactus together (not without many little pricks in the process, of course).

Candyce got ready in her grandparents’ house with all of her girls. It was so beautiful. Hayden and his guys got ready down the street in a neighbouring home. It was lovely. Candyce wanted a first look with her dad but didn’t want Hayden to see her prior to the walk down the aisle. The bridesmaids held sheets up to shield Candyce from the awaiting ceremony just prior to walking down the aisle so she could have that moment with her dad. It was so touching.

The aisle was made up of different rugs and cowhides with lovely mirrors to reflect the beautiful walk Candyce made to reach Hayden. Tears streamed down as they vowed forever together. It was absolutely touching. Post-ceremony, we got some couples portraits around the ranch. Then we hopped in the trucks to go down by the river to get some amazing shots at sunset. After catching those, we headed to the Wimberley Community Center where family and friends awaited the couple’s return. Candyce and some of her girls went out to the atrium turned art gallery to bustle her dress. Naturally, I had to follow to document the moments. From there, it was drinking, dancing, toasts, tearful stories, howling laughing moments, and a tipsy send-off under streamer lights.

Candyce and Hayden, thank you for including me in such an intimate and important moment of your life. I cherished our time together and can’t wait to see where life takes both of you.
