Shirea and Rafael's 'Boho Lux' Intimate Wedding in Mexico by Cosmos Wedding

Happy Friday everyone, I hope you are all well and happy. It’s a lovely sunny day here in Sheffield (at last!) I do hope the sunshine sticks around for a bit it would be so good if this was actually summer! The schools here officially break up today, so I will be spending the next 6 weeks juggling work and child care, so get ready for lots of holiday photos and days out on my Instagram stories. Today I am brining you this super glamorous ‘boho lux’ wedding from beautiful Mexico. A wedding filled with amazing decoration, gorgeous flowers and the most stunning bride and groom. Shirea and Rafael were married on 11th November 2023 at Hacienda Yaxcopoil in Mexico, it was planned to perfection by Charming Studios and captured by Cosmos Wedding.

Shirea and Rafael, who met in 2017, and got engaged after returning back to America from Argentina mid pandemic in 2020, envisioned an intimate non-fussy destination wedding that could encapsulate their very unique love story as world travellers.

With the guiding hand of wedding planner Diana Lomeli of Charming Studios, the couple crafted an intimate affair that echoed the ethereal essence of their love. With the planner’s local, they all crafted a bash that felt like a love letter to their globetrotting escapades. Initially, the groom, a travel journalist, wanted to return to Southeast Asia for their wedding – where they lived for 12 months to show their loved ones what had pulled them from America. However, the bride, a TV producer/writer, found the ultimate wedding “set” in Merida, Mexico, that surprisingly had the same allure as their favs in Krabi, Thailand, and Bali, Indonesia.

From November 9th to November 11th, 2023, the couple’s love story unfolded in a very intimate destination wedding that dubbed as a couples retreat. Amongst 38 cherished guests, Shirea and Rafael exchanged vows against the backdrop of the lush and luxurious Hacienda Yaxcopoil, a

The natural placement of all the greenery and florals in the Hacienda inspired the bride to let the location shine in its most organic form. A colour palette filled with melanated neutrals, glorious beauty surrounded the couple during their vows and at the following three-course dinner.

Shirea stole the show in not one but two show-stopping dresses. First up, a sultry mermaid number simplified with a signature twist. Then, she rocked a Madonna-inspired look with full-length gloves and rosaries that screamed “iconic.” And let’s not forget the venue décor —think earthy tones and lush greens, making the hacienda feel like their own private Eden.

Luxury graced every detail, from a majestic white horse for photos to a pre-cocktail event welcoming guests and culminating in a mesmerizing fireworks display during the couple’s first dance.
