Happy Friday everyone and how are you all? Thank Goodness for the weekend, I cannot wait for wine O’Clock! How has week 5 of lockdown been for you? Let’s face it we are all sick of it by now, but it will hopefully soon be over and we can slowly get back to some sort of normality! This weekend we have another meal ordered from one of our favourite restaurants, so that’s Saturday night sorted! We have a roast dinner planned with Dexter’s Nana on Sunday but I’m not sure if the weather may stop that happening as we are forecast lots of snow this weekend, so it may be a weekend of sledging instead! So on with today’s wedding and it’s the turn of Adrienne and Colin who were married on 12th July 2020 at South Lake Tahoe in California. This gorgeous wedding just shows that micro weddings really are a thing of beauty and the way forward for weddings this year. The whole day is super laid back, with a gorgeous outdoor ceremony followed by a chilled family dinner, making the most of the lakeside views and natural environment that the couple love. The day was captured beautifully by Louise Palmqvist from VILD Photography
Adrianne & Colin first met when they were just young kids as Colin was a friend to Adrienne’s oldest brother. Their dads have spent many years backpacking and biking together and Colin was always around her family. But it wasn’t before July 2017 Adrienne and Colin started dating, a few months after swimming across Lake Tahoe. They had been together for two and a half years before they decided to tie the knot with an intimate Lake Tahoe wedding. A waterfront wedding was a perfect choice since they both love being in and around water.
They started out the morning by going for a hike and swim at their cabin before having a laid back ceremony and leisure time with everyone. Their whole day was focused on spending quality time with everyone who means the most to them. The whole family truly came together to make this wedding special. From home-baked bread to a homecooked dinner. Adrienne’s mom made the flower arrangements herself and the wine was made by her father. Her brother also made a rocking playlist to keep everyone in the perfect mood throughout the day into the late night. Adrienne and Collin even made gifts for the family themselves; watercolor poppies painted by Adrienne and a redwood frame made by Collin, and a jar of homemade granola. With everyone helping out it became the most intimate and perfect family celebration.
They didn’t actually plan to get a photographer, but Adrienne’s friend came over to take photos in Colin’s redwood backyard on a whim and convinced her to get a photographer – and we’re SO happy she found us and reached out! Their day was so unique and intimate and such a joy to photograph.
