Happy Thursday everyone! How are you today? Yesterday and today may be quite a significant...
After the glamorous bridal inspiration we shared on Wednesday, today we’ve taken that luxuriousness into a forest setting with a fabulous shoot from the Rustic Wedding Company. Set at Scraptoft Hill Farm near Leicester, their ‘woodland luxe’ theme combines lush foliage and natural fibres with a luxe feel with the addition of copper details, metallic leaf and clean lines. I love how the simple cake and candle sticks bring a touch of class to an otherwise rustic affair and lift this eco style into something special.
We absolutely love inspirational shoots because it gives us the opportunity to try out new ideas and let our creative juices flow. We get to choose the venue, choose the theme and of course choose the styling. We also get to work alongside some fabulous suppliers who are handpicked for their creativity & style. Being specialists in rustic charm inspired decor, we are always looking for different ways to integrate rustic elements into new wedding styling trends and through inspirational shoots we get the opportunity to do just that.
With the luxe / metallic trend being huge for 2016 we wanted to achieve something original with this shoot that embraced the natural features of the woodland such as the foliage, the trees and the dappled sunlight and also added contemporary luxe design elements through copper colours and geometrics. Shying away from traditional floral arrangements we focussed mainly upon using wild & wispy forest foliage & pheasant feathers for the bridal bouquet, button hole and table decor. The hand tied bouquet itself was designed to give the impression that it had been gathered and collected in the woodland in a relaxed manner and was finished off with hessian and twine binding and copper coloured ribbon trailing from the centre and down to the ground.
The reclaimed table was designed to fit in with the surroundings and used a mixture of subtle woodland décor, moss, ferns, copper votives & geometric vases, a beautiful copper lantern & metallics candlesticks. We also added ribbon detail to the bride & groom chairs and used laser cut calligraphy signage & copper leaf stationery.
The Inspiration for the styling theme stemmed from the location of the shoot. A beautiful mature woodland, dappled in sunlight with an array of forest greenery, earthy hues of the surrounding trees & leafy forest floor.Based on this, we chose a rustic base for our colour pallet, using forest greens and browns, and added splashes of white, copper & gold to enhance the naturally occurring features and bring in a luxurious atmosphere to the setting.
We set out to create something different and innovative that would inspire alternative couples looking for woodland wedding venues in the UK. We also wanted to use the shoot as an opportunity to showcase not only what we can do as stylists but also showcase the other fabulous suppliers involved can do and the gorgeous venue itself.
Everyone’s creative ideas meshed together seamlessly and we were so pleased with the way that the whole shoot came together in the end. I feel that we managed to accomplish our goal well and all of the suppliers involved are really pleased with the story we have created through the images.
We undeniably adore creative shoots and have got a couple more planned for the near future which will once again mix rustic elements with contemporary design. Watch this space.
