Lisa and Robert’s ‘Dream Catchers and Glitter’ Woodland Fairy Croatia Wedding by Aloha Weddings

The sun is shining and it really is beginning to look a lot like Spring. How much better does the day feel when we have some sunshine? It really is the simple things at the moment that can make a day that much better. And sunshine is something that is plentiful in today’s wedding, as we head over to beautiful Croatia. Lisa and Robert went for a woodland fairy theme filled with lots of rustic detailing and plenty of glitter. With the most gorgeous outdoor ceremony filled with dream catchers and Boho decor. The whole day looks amazing with Lisa and Robert really setting the tone in their stylish outfits, against the beautiful Croatian backdrop. Aloha weddings was there to capture the day for them.

Boho woodland fairy wedding filled with love and laughter not formal just personal and fun

Lisa and Robert were married on 15th June 2019 at Lovrecina bay on island Brac in Croatia. ‘We decided on Croatia as we heard it was beautiful and easy for people to get to from England. We had 55 guests and it took 18 months to plan.’

How they met
We met on a night out in a bar I spotted rob across the dance floor and approached him. We have been together for 8 years.

The proposal
Rob got down on one knee as the sun set on our 1st year anniversary in Egypt. We also found out I was pregnant on that holiday so very special.

How did you allocate your budget?
We decided on a budget and the wedding planners sorted a spread sheet.

Where did you splurge and where did you save?
We didn’t hold back on my dress and the rings also the alcohol. Ha. We saved on the decor as I wanted it simple and was such a beautiful setting.

How did you choose your photographer?
We were given a choice of photographers by the wedding planners and we looked through their website.

The dress
My dress was by essence of Australia. I got the veil made so I could pin it to my dress like a cloak. My crown was a company I found called howlingmoon.uk I found on Instagram. My shoes were ASOS.

The suit and bridesmaids
The suit was a mix of Gucci and ASOS. All my bridesmaid dresses were from ASOS I wanted them all in different dresses.

Theme or colour scheme?
The decor was wild flowers a mix of colours again not formal. I had dream catchers and lots of earthy colours. Candles and lots of glitter.

Food
We ate traditional Croatian food. Meats and vegetables.

Wedding cake
We didn’t want a traditional wedding cake so went for the Croatian fritule with Nutella on. Then a fruit plate.

Entertainment
We had a saxophonist and a DJ

Who supplied the stationery?
We had stationeries designed by my friend and printed in line

Personal touches
My personal touches were the wooden name settings. The dream Catchers, rose quartz, glitter , lavender seeds. Then a message to the bride and groom.

Special moments
Our highlights were getting married listening to the waves and the saxophone and then laughing and dancing the night away. Best day of our lives.

Advice for other couples
My advice is don’t worry about everyone else enjoy your bubble and never people please. The smaller weddings are the best. More personal. Stay up until the sun comes up.

Biggest surprise
The biggest surprise was my little 6 year old poppy doing a speech. Left a tear in my eye.
