Chelsea and Jake’s ‘Boho Chic’ Macramé Filled Autumn Wedding in Colorado

Happy Friday everyone and how are you all this fine Friday? I am super excited today as tomorrow is my birthday! I am so looking forward to a day of celebrations, eating great food, lots of cake, a few glasses of fizz and a night out with my friends! I can’t wait! I’m sure I will be sharing some photos over on my Instagram stories. Today though I have this gorgeous Autumn wedding to share with you courtesy of Danna Frost Photography. Chelsea and Jake chose autumn for the rich colours and beautiful backdrop of the falling leaves. They chose deep tones and an array of macramé decoration, along with some super pretty Boho touches. Their outdoor Jewish wedding is pure perfection. The day was planned by Promise Event Planners who were kind enough to submit the wedding to me.

Chelsea and Jake were married on 12th October 2019 at The Barn at Raccoon Creek in Littleton, Colorado. ‘Being a California girl and having SO MANY guests from out of town, we really wanted to show everyone how beautiful the Fall is in Colorado. We had 175 guests and it took about a year to plan.’

How they met
We met at school at The University of Colorado at Boulder. GO BUFFS. We have been together for 8 years!

The proposal
Jake took me on a surprise trip to New Orleans. I had never been before and had mentioned many times how badly I wanted to go. Jake told me to pack my bags and that we were headed to the airport! He handled everything from coordinating with my bosses to having a photographer and videographer there to capture the whole engagement. It wasn’t until we got to the gate at the airport that I knew our final destination. After a good night’s sleep in New Orleans, we headed to a beautiful boozy brunch. He took me to New Orleans City Park. We were walking over a bridge and BOOM he got down on one knee. It was the most unforgettable weekend of my life.

The dress
Dress was found at Kleinfelds by Allure Bridals. My shoes were Joie

The suit and bridesmaids
Suit was from Black Tux, bridesmaids dresses were a mix of Show Me Your Mumu and a custom dress made and designed by my mom whom is a fashion designer!

Theme or colour scheme
Boho Chic. Warm, comfortable colours like burgundy, navy, and mixed metals to compliment the fall colours of October!

Flowers
Flowers included king protea., seeded eucalyptus, garden roses, blue thistles

Decoration
Lots of greenery, a macramé backdrop made by a friend, cozy lounge, vintage VW bus photobooth

Food
Cocktail hour was complete with a cheese board and delicious passed apps. Dinner was served family style to keep the homey feel! There was Caesar salad, grilled root veggies, mashed potatoes, stuffed chicken Florentine and beef tenderloin.. For a late night snack we had chicken tenders and fries with a Ranch Dressing fountain!

Wedding cake
Rather than a traditional cake, we opted for a cookie Bar by Ruby Jean Patisserie and a S’mores bar

Entertainment
The DJ was Skyline Productions

Personal touches
One of our friends hand made our beautiful macramé backdrop. Handsome Calligraphy made a custom sign of our adorable pup. The dessert cookies also served as a favour for people to take home on their way out the door!
