I have the most gorgeous wedding for you today, all the way from sunny California. I do love a California wedding, I don’t know what it is about them, but they always seem so fun, relaxed and full of Boho vibes. This one sent into me by The Gathering Season is no exception! Jessie and Claudio wanted to create a ‘Beautiful Outdoor House Party’ and this they did. Filling their day with bohemian touches, rugs, blankets, relaxed florals, great BBQ food, outdoor entertainment and so much fun and style. I love Claudio’s relaxed look and Jessie’s Grace loves lace dress is just divine! I know you are going to love this wedding as much as I do.
Jessie and Claudio were married at Black Walnut Ranch in Ojai, California. ‘Our dream was for our wedding to feel like a beautiful outdoor house party with all our closest people enjoying incredible views, good music, comforting food and fun drinks. We had around 85 guests and it took 6 months to plan.’
How they met
We met in college while studying music at Berklee College of Music.
How did you allocate your budget?
We knew we’d spend a good portion of our budget on necessities like the venue, photographers, coordinators, & music and so we got those decisions done first and worked from there.
How did you choose your photographer?
We’ve been sort of uninspired by most wedding photographers we’ve come across, until we saw The Gathering Season’s photos. They are beautiful.
The dress
Grace Loves Lace made my dress. Steve Madden shoes & a custom leather jacket with my new last name on it, a gift from Claudio.
The suit and bridesmaids
Suit was Vintage. The bridesmaids picked their own dresses.
Theme or colour scheme
It definitely felt bohemian and very much an ode to California.
Flowers
Topa Flora made these stunning bouquets and arrangements that were leafy and very flowy. They fit the landscape perfectly.
Decoration
Mexican prints, vintage rugs and prints of succulents/cactuses.
Food
Baby Blue BBQ!!
Entertainment?
Dart Collective as DJs and a Mariachi band for the post-ceremony walk.
Personal touches
I’d like to think it was all personal touches! Music was so important so we were particular about what was played and Dart Collective nailed it. We picked the ceremony spot and that felt so so special to us.
Special moments
The whole day! It really felt like an outdoor house party with all our favorite people.
Advice for other couples
Stay relaxed and that will help you take it all in. Also, if something is important to you, go for it!
Biggest surprise
The way things so naturally flowed and how it felt like the stars were constantly aligning throughout the night.
