Rich and Bohemian Seasonal Wedding Inspiration with a Touch of Earthy Cornish Beauty

This afternoon we head to Cornwall, my original home county, for a touch of earthy, bohemian wedding inspiration. A talented team of wedding supplies got together to create this wonderful collection of images. Cathy from Boelle Events tells us more about the shoot that took place at Launcells Barton Bude in Cornwall at the end of last year. The images from Olivia Bossert Photography are soft dreamy and use the venues features to the shoots best ability. With deep hand died burgundy’s, wild greenery and touches of gold, this shoot will suit any Boho couple looking to add some rich earthy tones into a day filled with soft pastels and seasonal detailing.

Organic, vibrant, fresh, Cornish, earthy and unique

Cathy from Boelle Events tells us more about the shoot

For this look, I wanted to go back to my Cornish roots and explore an organic, earthy and wintery theme. When I came across Launcells Barton in Bude, I was instantly drawn to it’s raw and rustic features and knew I had to style there! The barns, beams and exposed brickwork were perfect for my rich and bohemian vision. Not forgetting the beautiful house and gardens!

For the styling, I wanted to work with a deep pallet of burgundy’s, navys and golds lifted by a hint of blush and oodles of greenery. I believe in working with the seasons, from colours and accessories to seasonal fresh flowers. The colour pallet came from inspiration of autumnal colours mixed with wintery and seasonal golds to add a hint of festivities. Because each of my styles is unique, I hand dye all my fabrics so I can achieve seasonal colours. For the ‘Cornish Winter’ runner I dyed organic, unbleached cheesecloth with beetroot and red cabbage inspired chemical free dye to create the rich burgundy colour. The perfect base for golds and greens to sit elegantly on a rustic and upcycled oak trestle table. To add a bohemian flair, I incorporated macrame and a wicker peacock chair.

The Dresses & The Beauty: The 2 beautiful blush dresses were provided by the wonderful Bridal Room St Ives. Both dresses had a hint of pink and tons of glamour to complement the elegantly festive look. Hair and makeup were kept natural to stay in keeping with the organic and earthy feel. A beautiful statement contrasted with the glamourous dresses.
Florals: The flowers and greenery provided by Twigs and Greens were perfectly earthy! The bouquet was wonderfully wild, as were the garlands for the hanging hoops and centerpieces. The wild and wintery blooms mixed with heaps of foliage enhanced the organic feel to the shoot.
The Cake: The cake was bang on theme and complimented the styling to a T! Hand painted ombre
layers, gold leaf details and blush sugar flowers. This 4 tier beauty was a unique take on the a classic.
The Stationary: In keeping with the wintery rich colour palette, Laura pulled out some show stopping
stationary which was inspired by the florals, colours and hanging hoops discussed prior to the styling. I feel that wedding stationery can really transform the look of a table and bring it to life, and that’s exactly what it did!
