Happy Spring day! Yes I know, I am a day late, so sorry about that, but we are now technically into the second day of Spring. I hope you are enjoying some sunshine wherever you are! Today we are enjoying some Summer sunshine as we continue this week’s travels to Austria. Natalie and Michael planned their wedding in just 6 months and the results are this super light and cheerful, family friendly day, which has been captured so beautifully by Velvet Love.
Looking at these super cute photos of Natalie and Michael’s son and how involved he is in their day, I think it’s fair to say that children can make a really lovely addition to any wedding, especially when you involve them in the ceremony. I love the light, airy nature of this day, the pretty flowers and that vintage car is amazing!
Natalie and Michael were married on 7th July 2017 at Lässerhof, Stattegg bei Graz in Austria. ‘We wanted to get married outside and have our wedding party on the same location, so the Lässerhof was just perfect for us, we had 90 guests and it took 6 months to plan.
How they met
We knew each other from school and met again years later. Before we get married, we were a couple for 7 years.
The proposal
I asked Natalie to be my wife a few years ago on a summer holiday in Santorini, Greece – beach, sunset and this little question.
How did you allocate your budget?
Our budget was about EUR 10.000,00.
Where did you splurge and where did you save?
We tried to organize a beautiful day for us, our families and our friends, so we didn’t save much money. Most of the budget was spent on the location and the dinner and the beverages.
How did you choose your photographer?
A friend of us who married about a year before us recommend Maria to us and we are still happy, that we asked her to be our photographer.
Outfits
Suit: Hackett London
Dress: Pronovias
The maid of honor and my best man choose their outfits by themselfs. Our son Luis has the same bow-tie like me.
Theme or colour scheme
Vintage and nature were our themes.
Flowers
A combination of spray roses, wicken, lavender and sage
Food
We had a caterer named Die Kochwerkstatt and the food was delcious. The starter and the soup were served to the table, the rest of the dinner was served as a buffet. We also had ice cream vom Harry’s Icecream – the best Icecream in Graz – and a candybar.
Wedding cake
The wedding cake was a naked cake with fruits and dark and white chocolate. The cake also was made from our caterer.
Entertainment
DJ Gregor Adamek – really nice guy and excellent DJ!
Personal touches
The invitations were designed by my wife and homemade and a good friend of us played during the ceremony with his Vibraphone. We also made the decoration for the tables by ourselves.
Special moments
There were so many special moments, for instance the arrival of the bride with the oldtimer, the ceremony with our son sitting between us and the first, quite special dance with my wife. Also the party was a quite good one.
Biggest surprise
Our first dance – it was pretty perfect!
