There is something about a destination wedding that I love, I guess you know that as I feature so many of them on the blog, as well as weddings from all across Europe and the world. I think it’s the ability to hold the whole thing outside and we just don’t have that option here in the UK. Todays wedding is a great example of this. A beautiful rustic Spanish wedding that features a lovely outdoor reception, with alfresco dining, festoon lighting and lots of pretty natural details. Uschi and David have created a wonderfully laid back day, that has been captured perfectly by Sara Lobla.
Uschi and David were married on 26th August 2017, The ceremony was in Parroquia Nuestra Señora de la Asunción in Spain. ‘A friend of mine, called Gonzalo, has a catering company there, so when we visited the placed we felt in love. We had 150 guests, it didnt;t take as long to plan as we thought, we don’t have wedding planner but our family was a really support.’
How they met
We met at a Goethe Institute party in May 2011. David was living with my course partners so I met him in that party for the first time. One thing led to another and until today!
The proposal
David asked me the day of his birthday, the 13rd of March of this year. We were at a restaurant having dinner and he asked for cava and then he proposed! It was so emotional.
How did you choose your photographer?
A friend, gave us the name of Sara Lobla and since the first time we looked at her Instagram we knew she was the one. After a meeting via Skype, we knew it even more.
The dress
My dress was a one-shoulder dress by Pronovias. Really beautiful! Glitter flat shoes by Doriani.
The suit
Suit by Guzman.
Theme or colour scheme
Yes: green, white, grey and lavender.
Flowers
Wild flowers, white hortensia, lavender, olive tree and freesia.
Decoration
Rustic and natural.
Food
We had a cocktail with some corners (Spanish omelette, jam..) and then a formal lunch with two courses. No wedding cake, instead a delicious dessert table.
Advice for other couples
We recommend asking friends about venue, catering and all that stuff. Our friends helped us a lot!!
Biggest surprise
That everything went as we expected. It was a really beautiful day.
