Carmel and Daniel’s Romantic All White Ibiza Wedding with Bohemain Touches by Sara Lobla

Happy Valentine’s day everyone, and how are you all? Have you been treated by your other half today, or are you planning on treating them? I’d love to hear your Valentine’s day stories and what you are up to. Nik is taking me for breakfast today after the school run and then we are having a romantic dinner (at home) tonight once Dexter has gone to bed. 10 years on in our marriage and we are still keeping romance alive! (LOL) As it’s Valentine’s day, I have chosen a wedding to share with you that has a special place in my heart, as it takes place in Ibiza (where I was married). We are actually going back to Ibiza this June for our 10 year wedding anniversary, so I’m super excited to share this stunning bohemian inspired wedding for you. Carmel and Daniel chose a colour scheme of all white and their guests joined in by all wearing shades of white, which looks fantastic. The whole day looks amazing, as do Carmel and Daniel. It was all captured perfectly by Sara Lobla.  Happy Valentine’s day everyone, sending you lots of love.

Our wedding had many boho details, and full of casual moments, we wanted to have a good time and party all night.

Carmel and Daniel were married on 3rd September 2018 at La Escollera, Ibiza, Spain. ‘We got married in Ibiza as we’ve been visiting the island for over 10 years, we have so many memories here before we got together and after. We love the magic spirit of the island! We fell in love with the venue first and then allocated the budget accordingly to the cost of that. We had a set figure in mind but I think In the end it doubled. You only get married once, right?  We had 85 guests.’

How they met
We first met in Leeds when we were 21 in a nightclub.

The proposal
It was at The Pont Alexandre III, on Christmas Eve in Paris 2015. We were legally already married on paper; the ceremony was a blessing by Paul Hedly- Blessing on Ibiza (not religious)

Where did you splurge and where did you save?
We splurged on the wedding villa and the wedding venue, we saved on my dress, I got it in a sale over two years earlier on a US bridal site. I had my friends in NYC ship it out to me.

How did you choose your photographer?
We were in love with her photographs. For her unique style and that ability capturing candid moments.

The dress
Vera Wang dress– customised with an accessory made by the Australian brand Ixiah. Our wedding rings were engraved and made in Dubai. My shoes’ designer was Jacquemus.

The suit
The groom wore a suit made from Sartor in Dubai. Shoes by Gucci

Theme or colour scheme
The whole wedding has shades of white dress code.

Flowers
Gypsophilia, roses, olive tree

Decoration
We choose white deco; we use some umbrellas for the aisle. In addition, we put some white objects as a polaroid camera, white frames… everything was so white!

Food
Drink Sangria, margarita, food steak, paella,

Wedding cake
We had a three-tier naked cake decorated with flowers.

Who supplied the stationery?
We used Etsy for the stationary and printed them ourselves and brought it over in our suitcases.

Personal touches
I did all the table decor myself, we ordered the vases for the center table from Ikea in Ibiza and picked them up when we arrived.

Special moments
The groomsmen wrote a poem which he read during the ceremony and we picked up sand from the beach to each add to a glass bottle.
The singer and sax brought the dance floor to life after the ceremony singing and playing to old house classics.

Advice for other couples
My advice would be to enjoy every second because it goes so fast, splurge on the entertainment and hold back on having too many flowers

Biggest surprise
Biggest surprise was my two year old daughter coming up to me whilst I was getting ready with a box and a diamond bracelet inside. A gift from Dan.
