Good afternoon everyone! Today we have something a little bit different for you here on Boho. Shot at the Historic Eschol Park House, this dark and glamorous inspiration shoot is full of romance, gorgeous gowns and rustic ideas. Styled as a pre-wedding shoot, this styling would also be ideal for a winter wedding or a slightly different engagement shoot! With thanks for these images sent over from Catch Studio.
Stylist Alison from Visually Creative has done many weddings at the Historic Eschol Park House, and stumbled across an old abandoned wine cellar behind the main house. She thought this dark backdrop could be styled up into a beautiful rustic setting for future weddings.
We decided to use red as the key color as it represents passion and would go lovely with the dark romantic mood we wanted to create. The old sandstone walls of the cellar gave us the perfect backdrop to style up with pops of red, vintage inspired details and lots of candles to liven up this mysterious dark cellar.
We were mainly inspired by our key color red and the sensual passion it evokes. We were also inspired by the strong female characters and medieval details of our favourite TV show Game of Thrones.
Nothing oozes romance more than a lady in red. The stunning red embroidered lace gown by Saint Elia is the perfect boudoir dress alternative to a lace lingerie set, draping beautifully on the cellar floor like wax dripping from candles. Such an elegant lace gown can be complimented with deep red jewels by Cynthier for a boudoir glam look. For a more elegant evening look, wear a long flowy Grecian style red dress like this one by Célegance. Pair it with some delicate gold jewelry details for a romantic goddess look. This outfit would also be perfect for a fancy Valentine’s Day dinner or Chinese tea ceremony.
Stepping inside the cellar gives you an old world feel, as the property was established in 1816. Stylist Visually Creative used medieval inspired details to compliment the historic backdrop, drippy candles on old tarnished candle holders, wine barrels and antlers. Styling these with rambling floral posies of burnt reds, soft pink flowers and contrasting green foliage to tie in the sultry look. To bring some modern details to contrast the rustic browns, red coral tree branches were draped over the hand-made rope backdrop, with a geometric gold heart wreath hanging in the centre.
We wanted to create photo shoot styling ideas to inspire brides-to-be to recreate as a pre-wedding photo gift to her husband to be. For a more elegant boudoir style that’s not typical of the bedroom lingerie look, she can recreate similar style photos that would also make a great anniversary gift or lovely Christmas gift with the festive season coming up.
These are so stylish. Blown away by these. Great shots.
