This afternoon we have a massive dose of wedding inspiration with this totally gorgeous English Country Garden Wedding styled shoot. The shoot was created by a wonderful team of talented suppliers, headed up by Gemma of Rosy Apples Creations and captured perfectly by Fiona Oliver Photography. It’s set at the beautiful Cannon Hall which is in our very own Yorkshire Countryside. It is full to the brim with wonderful details, amazing cakes, beautiful blooms and some splendid ideas for your own country garden wedding.
What made you decide to do the Shoot
I knew for this shoot I wanted to create something completely unpredictable and fresh to any other tipi styled shoot seen before.
What was your inspiration behind it
We really wanted to make the most of the outdoors at that time of year, with the dewy grass and crisp Autumn weather, and capture the last fleeting moments before the sun sets. Two lovers huddled together under a blanket, sharing an intimate and romantic moment together lost amongst the stark cold Yorkshire countryside.
Our bride wore a dreamy Halfpenny London dress from The White Room in Sheffield, paired with a beautiful jeweled hair piece which framed the soft romantic up do perfectly.
We wanted to give a romantic, bohemian feel to the decor styling and create beautiful still life inspired details; we used pretty vintage crockery and tableware, tall brass candlesticks to add a romantic glow and rustic elements that worked really well with the wooden tipi furniture. Darcy’s Flowers created a stunning low floral table runner using blooms in dark romantic shades of pinks and reds with lots of greenery which looked like it was picked up straight from the garden. Upturned plant pots with cascading berries and figs were interspersed throughout the runner.
A delectable rich red velvet cake made by The Whimsical Cake Company added to the luxe feel, to incorporate the en-plein-air feel the desserts had a grown up picnic twist to give a sense of whimsy.
The stationery created by Gray Starling Designs was perfect for the shoot with wild woodland luxury in mind and a rustic feel with an ornate implication. Perfect for brides who require a more sophisticated look.
My favourite part of working on this shoot is the breathtaking floral garland that we hung from a huge tree, it makes the perfect backdrop for a wedding ceremony.
What did you want to gain from the shoot and do you feel you accomplished this
Teepees make the perfect blank canvas for a wedding day, as you can dress them as much or as little as you like and really put your own stamp on the styling.
Traditionally tipi weddings tend to be styled with lots of ditsy print bunting, gypsophilia, jams jars and hessian and whilst this look is beautiful, I wanted to create some fresh inspiration that was completely unpredictable and moving away from the “norm”.
