Diary of a Boho Bride – Ruth and Mike, Entry 3: 1 Month to go!

diary of a boho bride

You all made it to Friday! How are you all? I have had a pretty busy week so far.  Fearne finished school for the 6 weeks holidays on Tuesday so my mum, nephew and I headed to Blackpool on Wednesday and we heading home this morning.  I had a quick suitcase swap at home and now I am on route to Norfolk! Paul has a wedding tomorrow in Norfolk so Fearne and I are going exploring. I hope you all have some great plans for the weekend and any of you heading to a wedding it looks like the weather is going to be on your side.

Today we are back with our weekly Boho Bride feature and I am pleased to bring back Ruth and Mike to the blog. Last time they chatted about it just being 8 weeks to the wedding and this week she is back with just a month to go and looks like she has been a busy lady!

Ruth and Mike

I’ll pass you over to Ruth and Mike

So we’re counting down the days till we say ‘I do’. People say that your wedding day comes around in no time…and I’ll tell you something, they’re spot on!
Our youngest bridesmaid’s dress isn’t the same as the older bridesmaids; I spotted a beautiful girl’s dress on Etsy ages ago, last year in fact, and just knew it’d be perfect. Our younger bridesmaid is 10 years old and she’ll be wearing this oh so gorgeous tulle dress purchased from Oliva Kate Couture on Etsy.

Diary of a Boho Bride

I’ve been saving glass jars for a few years now so I had quite a fair amount but very little time to go through them all & clean them. I’ve also been gathering crystal decanters that I’ve purchased from charity shops and vintage stores. My lovely Mum came to the rescue and offered to help out with the cleaning of the glassware. She spent an afternoon going through every single glass jar and decanter, removing bits of glue from them and soaking them for a couple of hours in white vinegar and hot water to clean them…the results are fantastic! I just need to get some candles for them & we’re sorted.

Diary of a Boho Bride

We met with our wedding planner, Justine at Doddington Hall a few days ago to go through the wedding in detail. It was great to spend time talking through everything and getting final numbers confirmed. The Doddington wedding team are so lovely, we’re confident they’ll help to make our day feel very special.

It’s a strange feeling leaving your wedding venue for the last time and realising you’re not back there until the big day…or in our case, the day before!

Diary of a Boho Bride

Coming up we’ve got Skype chats and meetings with the photographer, videographer and band and I’ll be picking up my wedding dress next week….arrghh! We’ve purchased the wood for the giant Polaroid photo frame we’re making but it’s not finished so I’ll blog about this with plenty of pictures next time!

Diary of a Boho Bride

So only a month to go, I’m sure the next month will be filled with jobs but I’m so excited. I’ll be back in 3 weeks to tell you about our last-minute preparations

Speak soon,
