This afternoon I have an extra little treat for you, as I have a brand new Boho Bride to introduce you to. As of September there will only be four of our lovely brides left to chat to you about their wedding plans. When Carmel’s email landed in my in box and she told me all about he fabulous wedding plans for next year, I couldn’t resist adding her with the other four Boho brides. Her ‘Wedfest ‘ plans sound brilliant, coupled with the fact she has picked one of the best photographers in the wedding world, Jon from S6 Photograph, I just knew I had to share her wedding story with you.
So today please welcome Carmel and Dan to the blog, It’s also Carmel’s birthday today so I’d like to wish her a very Happy Birthday!
I met Dan on a night out in Leeds, I had only moved to the city in February. After a slightly drunken chat at the bar we exchanged numbers and arranged our first date for Friday 13th May. The rest is history!
Dan’s proposal really caught me off guard which I thought was impossible! His mum and sisters invited me out for tea at my favourite cupcake shop in Leeds. They also do a supper club. It was Friday 13th February. Dan dropped me off and I sat and waited. Totally oblivious I noticed mine and Dan’s song came on. I sat smiling whilst drinking glass of fizz. Next thing I knew, Dan’s walked through the door, suited and booted and down on one knee!!!!!!! I cried…… A lot!
For our big day we picture a laid back atmosphere filled with our favourite things! Food, friends, live music and lots of laughter! We get married at 12.30 at St. John’s the Baptist church in Adel, Leeds. I have 4 bridesmaids, and 4 mini maids! (12-3 years old. Couldn’t leave any of the nieces out!) Our colour scheme is pastel blue and pink. We have 4 ushers. We go to The Mustard pot in Chapel Allerton for our reception. We envisage a festival feel garden party. It’s a gorgeous pub with a great outdoor space. Covered in bunting and fairy lights. More of my favourite things! We have 120 guests for our wedding breakfast. I am a keen baker and Dan proposed to me in my favourite bakery. Cupcakes will definitely feature somewhere! We want live music for most of the day and street food to accompany our evening party. We want the day to represent everything we enjoy as a couple so all our guests can enjoy it with us!
