Bridal Blogathon – And We’re off…….

I started alongside Kelly on the Boho blog back in October. It was a very exciting time for me. Before coming on board Boho Weddings I was holding a career in the prison service that I just didn’t enjoy. I made the big decision in the summer of 2014 that I was going to leave the prison service and help my husband in his photography business.  I also wanted to do something else wedding related as well as the photography.  I honestly couldn’t believe my luck when Kelly advertised for an assistant the very week I decided to give up my 11 year career in the Prison Service. After a few telephone interviews and many exchanges of emails I couldn’t believe it when the email dropped in my inbox from Kelly saying she would love to have me alongside as her assistant. My days turned from working behind bars to working in the wedding industry and 6 months later I could not be more happy!

After only 6 weeks of working alongside Kelly an email pinged in my box (From the amazing Karen at Tippett PR) asking if I wanted to attend an event on behalf of Kelly for Boho Weddings.  Not just any event.  A #bridalblogathon to the Caribbean!  I read it about 10 times and I literally ran around my living room so excited.  Sun, Sea and Cocktails in May 2015!

What is a Bridal Blogathon?

Let me explain what exactly the Bridal Blogathon is.  After a successful Blogathon in Barbados back from 2013 Elite Island Resorts have teamed up with Kuoni and have invited four wedding bloggers to experience their weddings and honeymoons.   It is a month long social media and blogger Island Hop and we will be showcasing honeymoon and wedding options at Elite Island Resorts.  To sum this up a little,  four wedding bloggers from the UK (Want that Wedding, Bridal Musings, B.Loved and Boho Weddings) will be visiting St.Lucia, Antigua and Barbados handing over bouquets on our last day like in relay.  We will swapping tales and experiences in the sunshine over a few cocktails and this continues for a month.  Once we are all home we will all be blogging about our amazing experience and sharing these with you, our Boho Wedding readers.

When is is happening?

NOW!!!  I am currently sat on a train from my home town in a very rainy Yorkshire on the way to London.  I am the very first blogger to fly out to the Caribbean and you would not believe how excited I am right now!
I will be flying from Gatwick Airport in the morning and I arrive in St.Lucia 8 1/2 hours later.  I will spent 3 days at the amazing St. James Club in St.Lucia before I fly over to Antigua to spend 4 days at St.James Club in Antigua.  On the last day I will meet Clare who will be attending the blogathon on behalf of B.Loved.

• My journey begins on 30th April and I return on May 7th landing in the UK on May 8th.
• The journey then continues with Clare from B.Loved who will be in Antigua and Barbados from 6th to the 13th May.
• Clare from Bridal Musings will arrive in Barbados and Antigua from 10th to the 18th May
• Sonia from Want That Wedding will arrive in Antigua and St.Lucia on 16th May and return on the 23rd May.

The bridal Blogathon will be held over a total of 24 days, it will cover 3 islands and I know we are all going to have so many amazing stories to tell you.  We will be showing you lots of previews over the month on all the social networks and you can follow the journey by using the hashtag #bridalblogathon.

Somewhere Special

The amazing twist about this trip is that I have been to St. Lucia before and my wedding was held at the very hotel (St. James Club) I will be staying at in St. Lucia!  I know there will be many emotions once I head to the very pier Paul and I said our vows.  Most of my best memories to date were spent on this very resort.  There have been many changes there and I am looking forward to reporting back to all our readers about their wedding and honeymoon experience.
