Today we are in upstate New York for the wedding of Danielle and Bryan who were married on 22nd June in the Finger Lakes region. This Rustic wedding is full of homemade details that have been put together so lovingly by the happy couple. I just love it all, the cake table, the table decorations the venue, but most of all the soft low sunlight in the portrait shots that the lovely Dianne Marr from Our Two Hearts has captured so effortlessly!
They met in 2009 in Erie, PA while going to college. He proposed on a Valentines Day weekend trip to Philly on their 3 year anniversary. Danielle and Bryan were looking for the perfect rustic setting for their DIY wedding. They found “The spot” located in the finger lakes region in upstate New York and decided on the venue because of it’s obvious awesomeness but also as a nod to Bryan growing up on a farm. Danielle is a designer and Bryan is an engineer so they used those skill when working together on all of their DIY projects (she came up with the ideas and he figured out a way to make them). They spent a lot of nights, enjoying themselves while putting together these details with paint, wood, scissors, imagination and love.
A big goal of theirs was to have a fun, laid back wedding, that was enjoyable for everyone involved. This is why they also included fun lawn games for people to enjoy. Personally I loved that they excluded the unconscious traditions such as the garter toss etc. Everything about the wedding was personal and thoughtful and came together perfectly for them, with sunshine and happiness.
