Well hello lovely people, it’s Kelly here; Welcome to September! It’s been a while but I am now back from my maternity leave and raring to get cracking on the blog again! I’ve had a lovely few months off with my baby boy Dexter but I have to admit I have missed you all and I missed the blog! Bran did a great job of looking after you while I was off but she is off now, so I will be introducing you to a brand new member to team Boho in a week or so! This lovely lady will be working closely with me on both Boho Weddings and A Boho Life. I have lots of things planned for both blogs over the next few months, so watch this space for more info.
I am kicking this wonderful week off with a wedding from one of my favourite photographers Tux and Tales. It’s a stunning Barn wedding full of DIY elements, lots of pretty pastels, babies breath and roses for the flowers and some gorgeous electric blue suits for the men. Perfect!
Kerry and Paul were married on the 21st April at The Ashes Country barn in Endo Leek. “It was a beautiful venue with really friendly staff and great reviews – just perfect”
How they met
Paul and I have known of each other for a long time as I was friends with his sister. Sadly Paul’s sister passed away in 2010 which brought Paul and I closer together. From then on things moved very quickly. We bought a house in May 2011; we were engaged in Feb 2012 and had our first baby girl Betsy in June 2013. A very exciting 4 years. Non-stop fun !
The proposal
Paul proposed to me in Milan on a city break
How did you allocate your budget?
Priority to me was the venue, attention to details around decoration, the string quartet was one of the first things I booked!
How did you choose your photographer?
Searched the internet for photographers I liked the look of then contacted Jaye and spoke over the phone, very friendly and professional which sealed the deal.

Special moments
– Seeing the red bus pull up to the venue and all guests getting off
– Having our family together.
– String quartet was a big highlight. For me, it was perfect having them on the balcony during the ceremony.
– Food was beautiful – supplied by Jenkinsons
– Getting ready with my beautiful sister Rebecca, best friend Jenna, dDaughter Betsy and my mother Ann.
Advice to other couples
Keep it simple, don’t go over the top as the day goes so quickly you need to be able to appreciate the things you have spent time and money on. Spend less time on formal photos and more time actually spending time with friends and family, this advice was given to us from our photographer and I am glad we followed that advice. In terms of planning, tick all the big boxes first then leave all the attention to detail closer to the time but make sure everythings complete a few months before so you have time to enjoy the run up.
On the day no matter what happens, forget your expectations and go with flow, don’t get caught up in minor details. Enjoy every minute !
Biggest surprise
A card from Paul which I read just as I was about to leave and walk down the aisle.
